Now that's what I call irony.

My Map (In Progress)

I am making some good progress. I really enjoy my tileset, it is simple, yet complex..

It's beautiful Marco. Like you said, the graphics are simple, yet so much more complex than a typical classic set. It has a whole new feel to it; a unique breath of life. It's amazing.

Moosh Making Maps oh how Marvelous!

Overworld of Quest (the reason dungeons 6 and 7 are not on this map is because they will be in the dark world)

Level-5: Pissy Patra Crypt

Maps may of course be subject to change in the future.

Moosh: Epic. Incredible. I love it when others have a flawless talent in using the Classic Tileset. The overworld is amazing, I have no complaints. The dungeon really captured the Crypt feel. Diggin' the palette.

Thanks, Marco. I'm trying to create something as unique as I can here and to do that I have to seperate myself not only from the habits and clichés of classic style quest design, but also my own habits and clichés that I've developed as a designer of classic style quests. I'm hoping that I can get this quest to feel less "kill everything that moves" than my previous work and focus more on exploration and puzzle solving than I have previously.

Edit: Forgot to comment on your map. It looks stunning. I really love what you've done with the set. The only complaint I have is that the noise created by all the different terrain types used is a bit distracting, but that's only really noticable when looking at the whole map so it shouldn't be a problem.

I said it on the livestream and I'll say it again, that is an amazing use of the classic set in dungeons.

@Moosh: That map you posted really reminds me of an old Classic quest I was working on back in like, 2007. I like how the dungeons actually look somewhat complex but still adhere to usual Classic tileset principles. It honestly looks like something I'd enjoy playing. :>

@Marco: Damn that's pretty. It's so pretty that I don't even know what else to say about it other than that it's pretty. icon_frown.gif You really do have an excellent grasp on aesthetics.

It looks like you took the style of the dungeon entrances in Shadow Wars to heart, Moosh. That is a very good thing to do. The dungeon looks nice too.

That's funny considering I've never even played Shadow Wars... icon_confused.gif Did it use a lot of sideview dungeon tiles and CSet 11?

CastChaos used ordinary tiles to make unique dungeon entrances in Shadow Wars.

Dragonite, that is simply beautiful. As i told you ,the colors and design are spectacular!

I see a blank grass tile under the bridge. It kind of looks weird.
