This screen wasn't as bad as it could have been; however, it could have been a lot worse. The irony of using the mountains correctly was not lost on me. The trippy palette does not improve this screen.

If you look closely enough, you can see a couple mountain errors actually. Not sure if I'm at fault for not looking closely enough or if it's tileset limitations.

First Thoughts: I like the house, did you make that or was it borrowed by somebody?
Personal Opinion: It reminds me alot of the beginning screen for the original LoZ. The simplicity actually works very nicely here, I love how you can't see the current items you're using. (Shiny buttons!) The biggest problem is the square water, and even THEN it somehow fits, I just can't explain it!

/me kisses Zelfore. You. Rock.

@Russ: Shucks! I don't really know what else to say to that! Uhm. Shucks, again!

In all seriousness, though, I've been refraining from replying to see if somebody noticed, and I was starting to feel like nobody would...Haha.

About the water, for some reason...I just kinda like it that way. icon_deformed.gif I know you guys are (metaphorically) the "consumers" so I should adjust what I create to fit what you guys want, but...meh. I do use boarders for the deeper water, but I feel like shallow water doesn't really need it. I'll fix the squareness of that other pool, I guess, but I'm not sure if what I wanted to do with it will work otherwise.

My favorite non-standard shot this week. I appreciate the structure in it and in terms of colors it's really aesthetically pleasing. Plus, I could actually see this being used in a quest as a dream sequence or something. It could be really cool if you animated the Link sprites to spin or bob up and down or something.

The idea is that if it was animated, the Links would be spinning around their axis and move upwards until they exit the screen. They would endlessly spawn from the ground (the transparent Links behind the mountain on the layer over the sky and the fully coloured Links on the highest layer in front of everything).
Think Twilight Princess vision of Link when Lanayru told him about the ancient tribe where that trippy cutscene kicked in.
Music to fit it might be Edith Piaf's Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien or Shelia's version of Bang Bang probably, but I could also imagine a theme such as Noir Désir by Vive La Fete. It has to be frech, how ever.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I don't take LSD, that I'm older than most of those guys that tell people to grow up and that I wasn't trolling either and that both, thought and effort went into my submission. Please don't kill me, too, everybody. I like how this seems necessary to be said because otherwise this stuff was actually being asumed.

I thought that caption was French. icon_wink.gif

'This is not Magritte.'

Anyway, I'm not going to go into detail this week. I voted to Dawnlight as those are the kind of dungeons I'd like to be able to make someday. icon_xd.gif

I think I see what you're talking about (right above the lowest tree) but that's really insanely minor and it's nothing that I'm going to notice while playing. Perspectivewise you did it correctly.

I really like Shiek's screen, I don't see it as a joke screen, I see it as a really cool classic screen and looks like it is some kind of cut scene of Link dreaming. icon_wink.gif

First Thoughts: MAN, you're good! How did you make that realistic image of a woman?
Personal Opinion: I think navigating through this place would be fairly difficult, it looks like one of the screens where a glitch occurs and you have to figure your way out of randomness.
Overall Rating: You get a 'Joke Tag' as well, because of Random Butterfly! *floats away*

s***!
I'll have your head for putting that butterfly on your art Joanna Newsom! Knew I should have went with Pixies instead, cost me a vote. icon_frown.gif

Pretentious hipster garbage. Can't believe anybody buys this indie folk shtick. I do rather like Spiderland though.

It's hardly folk. And the Spiderland quote is just ironic. Plebe.

I honestly did not like any of the screenshots except Pokemonmasters, Ebola Zaire's, Twilight Knight, and Furion,
Also, some of these were made in two seconds.

I don't see any screen that was made in 2 seconds. icon_shrug.gif

For the record my took 7 minutes worth of picking the right tiles, colour, design, enemies and then designing it so yeah you were off by 6 minutes and 58 seconds. icon_deformed.gif

After looking at TK's screen some more the mountains look a bit funky when they hit the castle.

Do you really think that? None of the screens I've seen here took two seconds. They all had to have some thought put into them, no one went into Zquest and just pressed a key and then left. They put some witty comments or something that made their screen different. Alison actually probably had to "some" work to get his to be flipped and distorted and all that, and Sheik91 had to put some effort into his because he put links jumping around on clouds.

The blank screen could be seen as being made in two seconds, but like, he had to have type the string and stuff and make the guy not there and Link invisible. I'm not going to comment on all the "two second" shots, I'm pretty sure you can look at them and think of how they had a little effort into them.

That blank screen could have even took more then two seconds writing up the string, opening up ZC etc.

My apologies then, I honestly did think your screen was supposed to be a joke. I can see how your screenshot was inspired by last weeks winner, but doesn't actually relate to it.

So I'll give you a re-review!

First Thoughts: LINKS, LINKS EVERYWHERE.
Personal Opinion: The idea of link descending into the sky is actually pretty clever, it's just not expressed well in a still image, it kinda looks like several links killing themselves. But the idea of this being part of a quest (not saying it is, I just like the idea) is pretty exciting, the natural dreamlike or dimension effect is actually quite beautiful. Just wish it was animated.
Overall Rating: Here's the alternate 4/10, because one link is never enough!

Hyperbole or not, he's still implying that there was little to no time spent on these shots. I wasn't really trying to make it look like I was taking it in a literal sense, but still, he's saying there was little time spent on these shots and that could be true for the blank screen one and that's about it I would say. All the rest of the shots look like they would take some planning and effort.
