MAJOR BUG found. The Cane of Byrna's Orbit sound effect loops indefinitely even after the energy barriers disappear.

Tested this against hitting enemies with the spheres, walking off-screen with the spheres, and cancelling the spheres with a second Cane use. The orbit sound effect keeps playing until the game is restarted. I also have "Magic" set to 0, by the way, along with both Sparkle types activated, the number of Beams is "3", Speed Divisor is "12" and Radius is "18", if any of that info is useful for any reason.

Can't believe nobody else picked this one up yet. icon_eek.gif

Just a thought, has anyone tested out side-view gravity in RC1 yet? I remember there being a lot of problems. I'm sure the developers fixed all of this, but I'm just curious if anyone has found any problems. (Considering making a side-view dungeon)

It's not perfect, but side-view gravity works. Why don't you try it for yourself?

Are solid damage combos in sideview fixed yet?

<Doesn't feel like testing for himself...*lazyface*

I know back in the 1200s, you could stand on a solid damage combo without taking damage.

...Try, like, three years ago. Build 800-something, that's when they got it working on a basic level. According to the Shardstorm Changelog at least. Are you a 2.10 user? I hope so; you better not be yet another one of those anti-upgrading zealots I see all over the place here. icon_neutral.gif

Well hey, don't be so harsh. The item was in the item list as an item that did nothing for the longest time. I knew it had been implemented sometime, but I had no idea when, and honestly, I haven't even tried it out yet.

Also, anti-upgrading zealots? I've never seen anybody around here like that. Unless you count people like me who only update every month or two to avoid the hassle of transferring save files and such over and deleting old files every week.

To be honest, it's not that surprising that few have looked very hard into bugs with some of the newer items. If you are using the classic tileset, it is easy to use them because they are already set up, but 95% of the other tilesets out there do not have items such as the Cane of Byrna or even Roc's Feather set up in either actual usable tiles or in the subscreen. I'm not saying the bug is any less important because of this, but I'm just pointing out why people may have not found it so easily.

Also, I may have been using 2.11-2.50 beta releases on and off for years, but it doesn't mean that I'm intending to use every feature or even know about every feature. While I have made it a point to keep up, even I didn't know the Cane of Byrna was implemented until a few months ago. icon_shrug.gif

Link takes damage from standing on a solid damage combo in RC1.

I use 2.5. I knew that the Cane of Byrna was added to the list, but I just never bothered to try it (mainly because I didn't think it worked and I don't use a tileset with it already set up). Also, I don't hear people mention it much, so I assumed that nobody used it.

Not sure if this is a bug, but item and guy (rather worthless anyways) hitboxes are rather wonky (by half a tile). It deosn't seem to interfere with Link picking up items, but IIRC, it does glitch up items on conveyor belts. Also, I see you seem to have fixed the bug with enemy hitboxes bugging out when carried over between screens! *claps* Now look at all the fancy stuff I can do without any problems!

Edit: I'm finding RC1 bugs left and right it seems. This one is a problem involving side warps. If I have a screen with a side warp B C or D set, but no direction for A (like with a timed warp), hitting Go or OK will crash ZQuest.

Is anyone else having problems with ZQuest crashing while saving? I'm having no luck with that one at all.

I'm not seeing it, and I don't see a problem with the code that stops it. It always does this?

Not really a bug, if you mean what I think. Conveyor belts are kind of weird like that.

Not seeing it. Could you post a demo?
Well, I guess you can't if it crashes... A specific example, maybe?

Anyways, I'm quite liking this. I don't think I've had a single crash while using it, which never seemed to happen with any other build. I definitely haven't had problems with saving, other than the "Save As..." bug that happens if you have ZQuest set auto-load the last quest you were working on before you turned it off, but that's more of a slight annoyance than anything.

I can confirm the Cane of Byrna's orbit sound looping forever. It seems to be caused by the sparkle sprite or damaging sparkle sprite being set (Ex. I set it to Flame and was able to reproduce it).
