I logged in into the forums and nothing happened...were the forums also hacked or it was just the website itself?

Yes the forums were also hacked. Maybe even more than the website itself. When i entered the website nothing happened, but when i entered the forum it started loading a bunch of things in my HD and a weird screen about cleaning viruses came up.

That in and of itself may be a virus or malware, I would check that and scan your computer.

Am I the only one thinking maybe these attacks might have something to do with Nintendo?

In this case, probably yes. They'd have sent an official "cease and desist" order or perhaps pressure the ISP causing the site to disappear overnight, but they wouldn't hack it. Also, it's hardly in their interest to hack their own fans.

On the question of the new home, let me be as diplomatic as possible. The first and foremost thing they need is a home they have full access to, i.e. FTP. Think of it as having the keys to your own front door if you like. This would allow them to host ZC, upload and change files, make releases, host and show videos, tutorials, script files et cetera. That's the difference between zeldaclassic.com, the actual 'home', and armageddongames.net, the official forums. Of course the site will need a forum, but if you have a site you can host a forum on it yet not vice versa.

It also means if there ever is any hacking problem - let's face it, it sometimes happens - the developers or whoever is running the site can fix it. AGN has been hacked before and come back. What makes me think this could be the end is AGN's been hacked and not come back within a day.

These reasons rule out PureZC as a new home. My advice to the developers would be either to host a completely new site of their own and under their control or to join forces with an exsting one where not only the staff and community but also the owner and webmaster is active and helpful.

Of course it'd be the simplest option if ownership of PureZC changed so that we could fulfil that criteria - we are the largest and most active ZC site after all, and have excellent staff - but that option is a dream of mine, it's not in any way realistic.

Oh ok, then I'm good. I logged in yesterday and nothing happened (I changed information in my profile, since I couldn't delete it, in case my info. was gonna be hacked also). I have Microsoft Security Essentials it's pretty good, and no notification(s) came up, so I'm guessing the forums are safe now? (Google didn't report it as a "bad" website either).

http://armageddongames.net

^AGN look perfectly okay to me - the '/forums' redirect was broken and redirected to that malware site by the hackers, and the same applies for any 404 link, hence the Google malware reports.

I want to get here. But some malware alert thingy pops up, this is basically what Chrome does when it thinks there may be a virus in a site. Is the link I'm trying to go to contain viruses? Because I want to download that quest... icon_frown.gif

Try looking at safe browsing diagnostics
It was only dangerous 1 day out of the past 3 months.

So it is safe to go in the website? o.o My computer has had viruses in the past, 1 of which was very serious. I don't want to get any more viruses.

It would be a good idea to disable Javascript and plugins, at least. Quests files are presumably okay.

Try clicking on the AGN Logo after logging in and being redirected to the forum index. I've been getting the same forum oddity myself. After I clicked that logo, it showed that I was logged in. icon_wink.gif

It automatically logs you out if you stay logged in and take too long to click any links or whatnot.
