I am stuck with the timed arrow room in Level 8 (I did download the update with more time given). I'm not sure if I have the longbow -- the bow I have is blue. If this isn't it, where is the longbow?

Just so you know, Pineconn is making the puzzle easier in the next update.

I'm on level 7 right now, been playing this quest slowly for the last while. Overall I thing this quest is well built and definitely deserves the 5 stars that it has, but there are a few things that I'd like to address if you decide to update it at some point:

1. The swamp. Given that the quality of the areas and levels in this quest seem to get better as you go, I think you should probably go back and rebuild the swamp. Its just a long, linear, twisty and unpleasant thing to walk through fort he dozenth time. Considering you'll be walking back and forth through the swamp collecting the items you need into the dungeon, you really should consider making this place a little more free-roamish so that you aren't walking down this tedious line to get in and out of the swamp every time. And you should also consider putting in some kind of quick-access shortcut which lets you get from the entrance to the dungeon a little faster, maybe a boomerang or arrow trigger that'll lower a bridge.

2. Similar issue to the swamp, the stretch from the village to the mountains is a bit dull. Wouldn't hurt to throw in a cave/secret or two in there.

3. In several of the dungeons there are "block puzzle" rooms. The puzzles aren't really that hard, but the issue here is that you've placed them in areas where you'll be passing through repeatedly. It REALLY gets obnoxious to have to re-do the puzzle you've already solved, which is time consuming and boring, in order to get through the room. If you're going to have block puzzles like this, you should only put them in places where you'll only need to solve them once, like in order to get to an item or key. So once you have it, there's no reason to go back there anymore.

Other than that, everything seems well and good as far as I can recall. Keep up the good work.

(I haven't read many of the previous posts so some of this may have been mentioned already.)

Cool, my first true criticism that isn't from russadwan!

1. Numerous lily pads are scattered about, many of which allow you to roam through the swamp (only when you get the ladder). Specifically, there are 5 lily pad short cuts. I was considering an arrow short cut, but it never happened.

2. Yeah, it is a bit boring. Oh well, that's something that won't happen in my next quest. I've grown considerably better, so this shouldn't be a problem. Oh, and you probably won't like the Level 8 area.

3. But that ruins the fun! icon_razz.gif Okay, I'll consider this for my next quest.

Yeah, but by the time you get to level 4 there aren't exactly a lot of reasons to visit the swamp. I mostly just don't like how linear the whole place is. I'd rather have more exploring the area to find what you want than following the path to get to the end.

What!? I shower you with applause, tell you how good the quest is, and then I start asking questions about he storyline and you accuse me of criticism! I would give you bad reputation at AGN if it weren't for the fact that it was criticism. icon_biggrin.gif icon_razz.gif Sorry, but I do get a little picky about the storyline of quests. Which is why my EoT remake will explain most of the unanswered questions posed by LttH, although a lot of them somewhat indirectly.

Lol. But I really do appreciate all your praise.

Aeon, do you still think the quest is good?

Okay, so I've complained about the storyline. Sorry, that's just how I am. I still think it's one of the best quests ever made though.

This is a great quest, Pineconn!

Now, I hate to sound like a complete idiot, but where are the blue and red rings/suits? I'm almost done with level seven, but all I have is the green suit. icon_redface.gif I'm getting a little sick of dying all the time, so, yeah... where are the suits?

The blue armor is to the left of the entrance to level 4, hidden in a cave, guarded by invisible enemies. However, since you now have the amulet, you'll be able to see them. The red armor is hidden somewhere in the clouds.

Thanks very much! icon_biggrin.gif

Okay, I now have a new problem:

In level eight, when I get to the areas with the fences with the deep blue sky below, I find myself stepping on some tiles and "warping" to the continue point of that screen.

Here's an example.

IPB Image

The tiles I circled in red are guilty of this, and it basically makes it impossible for me to reach that "falling tile" section, which makes it impossible for me to get to the treasure chest on the next screen. I'm playing this quest in version 2.11 (which has never given me problems before with 2.10 quests, and works tons better than 2.10), and this glitch occurs in both the original quest that was uploaded in December and the updated version that was uploaded a few weeks ago. Am I screwed, or is this glitch intentional?

2.13 beta's > 2.11 beta's in terms of 2.10 and older quest support.

In the forest. From the town, go north. There are two entrances to the forest from it. Just follow the somewhat linear path through the forest, and you will come to level three.

Hey, is anyone getting Ricky of Kokiri's glitch? I'm not. Russ, CastChaos, anyone?

Ricky of Kokiri, please open up your LttH text file and tell me what version of the quest is in the header. Version 1.2.4 is the most recent. (Please also verify that the version number in the header matches the most recent entry in the "Updates" section.)

I don't see why those tiles should warp you, since they have no combo type when I open up ZQuest.
