Yesterday I spent a few hours playing Spec Ops - The Line from start to finish, mostly in one sitting (a few five-minute breaks here and there). Normally I avoid shooters but I made an exception for this one.

I'd compare it to Earthbound or Psychonauts: The gameplay is nothing to write home about (and at times actively horrible), but the atmosphere and the characters make it worth playing anyway. Except it's dark and depressing instead of bright and whimsical. Easily does the best job of conveying an anti-war message better than any other piece of media I've ever seen.

"There's a line you have to cross to become what we are. If you're lucky, you do what's necessary and then you die."

15 hours into Persona 3 Portable Female Route. I'm about to face the 3rd Full Moon Boss.

I'm planning to do a marathon of the Last Story tonight.

I caved in and started playing an incomplete fan translation of Pokemon White 2, and so far... Eh. While the Area Finder tool is very cool, it really hasn't improved on the first game at all, aside from giving me some older Pokemon to use. It feels like a quick sequel to cash in for money so far. Although, the partial translation amuses me. The way certain conversations are partially English and partially Japanese. It makes me try to feel in the gaps with... Somewhat amusing results.

Dark Souls: Discovered where the heck you're meant to go!

Also the games load screens on PC are too fast D: and the game appears to be expecting you to read the tips during the load screens! There's very very little guidance in the game aside from those tips and they disappear too quick :/

I haven't played the Prepare to Die version yet, but I don't think they would have changed where those tips came from: they're the flavour text from the items. You can at least read the descriptions of the items you have on the inventory.

Speaking of, still playing Dark Souls on my PS3 intermittently. Got around to getting summoned to help with the Undead Parish boss a few times so I could become a Warrior of Sunlight. Now I just have to decide whether to bother going through Lower Undead Burg and the Depths, or just skip right down to Blighttown.

Other than that, haven't touched a lot.

I love/hate my friends for this, but they got me playing DOTA in my off-time. Which is great it's fun, but....it's too fun and I can't stop

Also Sonic Advance 3 is a more conventional game I am playing now

Greatly enjoying Dark Souls so far. Ignore everyone who says it is a "bad port" because it isn't. The game is as far as I can tell, bug free, has never crashed for me or my friend, has functional co-op that works great and excellent gameplay.

Too many people are saying it is a bad port purely because:

1) They don't properly comprehend how the co-op/invade system works.
2) The game lacks graphics configuration.
3) The game lacks decent Keyboard/Mouse support (Seriously, it sucks, use an Xbox360 controller which works extremely well)
4) Uses GFWL.
5) A lot of people seem discouraged by the game not hand holding you at all past the tutorial area at the start. After the tutorial you are given virtually free reign over where to go and explore and it is up to you to decide how to play etc. like do you want to both find and fight along the intended path or stray and struggle against stronger foes? The game also features lots of nice secrets throughout.

For point 2 there is a mod that completely remedies it and makes the game look fantastic visually. I am pleased the developers took the effort to provide us with an excellent quality title rather then investing all there money in making the graphics neat and giving us a buggy pile of mess.

My recent Dark Souls retry halted in Anor Lando. I got through the painted world and cleared the cathedral, but can't kill the bosses there.

Reached Chapter 11 in the Last Story. So far after a quarter of the way into the game, it;s very exciting. I just went through a bunch of epic scenes. It's the same flavor if not better than the experience I had with Lost Odyssey.

Got further into NSMB2. icon_confused.gif I'm not really having much fun with the game.

With the completion of THPS4 (although I might try to get all the cash later at some point, maybe not), I can move on to other things. I should really get back to that WW playthrough... But I also recently played through and beat Mega Man 3; I'm thinking I'll likely go beat Mega Man 1 and 2, then finish the rest of the NES games. Need to get acquainted with this series I missed out on as a kid...
