I think the whole screen is a bit boring, try adding rocks or bushes and block the open corner in the bottom left, and also make the top left more interesting icon_wink.gif

I changed my palette scheme (4-bit to 8-bit). If anyone wants to edit or make better tall grass for me I'd be very happy. Otherwise I'll just use MC tall grass.

That grass is going to need some highlights to work. The top is really blending in to the low grass.

Rafael, I like it. The tall grass blends in with the first tree, and then not the second tree. I don't get it icon_neutral.gif

Rafael - I like it. The only problem is that the forest brush doesnt look too good for me, and the tree in middle of the tall grass seems to be standing on it, and not surrounded by it.

Jared - I like it too. But that sheep looks a bit off in comparing it to the trees. A bit too 2D, perhaps?

Dude, this is so epic. Maybe add some bright colourful flowers, just to break the browns and greens?

While the house looks nice, I don't really see anything that sets it apart from any-other MC screen. Detail is plain, so's the design. Nothing truly wrong, but it's a little boring. Try adding some more spice to it, maybe?

I read you ripped them all and did the palettes. Unless, you were lying. (Which I highly doubt icon_wink.gif )

I suggest you type "Linkus" in the search option of this site and search the threads in Developer's Exchange. Also, prepare to wet your pants off all this Minish Cap greatness you will see. Someone should make a thread that gathers all of the custom graphics Linkus ever submitted in that style.

@Midnight King-I had already just added some flowers. I will be adding tons more to make it look like flowers grow in groups.

@Ica44-I don't like the brush either, it's still in progress.

@Tall grass complaints-Definitely needs work, I'll do that.

@The person who questioned the top-right tree (sorry I can't see your name icon_razz.gif)-The tall grass is meant to have ended up there. That tree is not in tall grass.

EDIT-New shot. I'm reverting to the old brush for now.

Hey, that tall grass is MUCH better icon_smile.gif I would suggest that the tiles that form the northernmost edge
of the grass should have an even lighter highlight along the very top edge. Then it'd be perfect!

Rafael, in the MZC tileset (the one Jared is using) there's a forest brush which would work perfectly for you. It's been made by Linkus I believe and it's textured similar to your second attempt, though it actually looks good. You can see it in the winner of SotW 169 (also Linkus obviously):

I love the background of the subscreen! (I have to admit I never understood having the magic meter look like an energy capsule with those
metal caps on the ends, looks futuristic to me like Mega Man or Arkanoid, or something, but it certainly is popular around here)

Um, I didn't post this to get comments on it, it's Linkus' screen. I merely wanted to show Rafael the brush tiles so he doesn't have to download the tileset just to take a look at them to see wether he likes them...
