Just curious NoeL, how do you feel about the overworld style revamp?

Looks like my big reply got lost :/

Anyway, regarding the motion controls I disagree with Robin. As it's been said everywhere else, the only people that don't like Skyward Sword's motion controls are the people that don't like any motion controls (as seems to be the case with Robin).

As far as the sword and the bug net go, the motion plus is spot on. You do have to be mindful of the controller, but that's the whole point! You can't just waggle the controller around like in TP - you actually have to move the controller where you want to. This introduces a larger degree of human error which gamers may not be used to/appreciate (because it reminds them how incompetent they actually are at wielding a sword), but it's simply a new game mechanic that takes a bit of time and patience to master.

Where the motion controls fail, imo, are with the slingshot. When you get the item out "center" is defaulted to whatever orientation the wiimote is in, so unless you're already pointing at the screen when you get it out it doesn't aim how you're used to with IR controls.

Reminds me of when my family first got an N64 back in '98, and I couldn't play Mario Kart mainly because I was only used to the NES. And I had to have an epic training montage to get good at it. icon_deformed.gif Okay not really.

And I have to agree on the point about Twilight Princess, I actually really hated having to wiggle the control for no reason. At least it'll feel like it's making a difference this time.

I've been playing it for the past few days, all I can say about the controls is that I really haven't had any problems with the wii motion controls as far as the sword goes. There are a few things that could have been done better, but all in all it's a pretty solid setup. I don't want to reveal too much because im not up for starting another "spoilers" war.

Edit: Played a little more this morning before I went to school, I am enjoying the heck out of this! The soundtrack, from what I've heard so far, is top notch and gives the feeling it's intended to depending on the area. I love puzzles in zelda games as well as combat! This game makes me do both at the same time! I can't wait to give my full review when the game comes out!

I'm about to post some big spoilers in this thread.

Okay, seriously though, I can't wait to get this game... But I have to wait. icon_razz.gif I can't get it until this time around next month, I actually don't mind waiting though. I have been spoiling myself with, well, spoilers. But to be quite honest, I don't care about spoiling myself, I'll find it out when I play the game anyways. It looks like a good game, and it will be the only time I've bought a new Wii game in millenniums.

Also standing up while playing video games is the worst idea ever no it can't happen ever.

For Australians pre-ordering the game, Zavvi (A UK shop that ships to Australia) has the game bundle (Wiimote included!) for 49.95 GBP which is roughly $78.70 AUD (It takes 10 - 15 days delivery though which is the only downside :/)

I know that feeling. The last game I bought for the Wii was Okami, and hell, was I disappointed (thanks for the overrated reviews, PZC icon_frown.gif ). The other two games for the Wii I have are, believe it or not, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.
I originally wanted to buy a Wii just so I can play SS when it comes out, but I got one for my birthday this year in April which was quite cool, but I have used it for at most 20 hours or something at all.

It is possible that I might have missed something here, but from what I can see your post is very much off-topic. If you just wanted to recommend the game, might I suggest using the shoutbox, or heck, just making a new topic altogether?

Heh heh, apparently tomorrow night one of my friends is hanging out at another friend's and they invited me over, the night of Skyward Sword... but it sounds like I'll just play a lot at home then take it there and start a new file and take turns playing through it or something. Should be fun. I guess. Though I wish I had the full first night of Skyward Sword but I'm sure I can make up the time pretty quickly. :heh:
