There are WAY too many Link sprites in the combo pages for cutscenes to make any alterations. They're all over the tiles pages too, which by the way are a complete and total mess beyond all hope and reason.

I'll be back in my working environment after Tuesday, though that's likely when I'll be doing my hard drive format and backup. Give it a week.
The hall of mirrors also has a shop where you can buy the Lens of Truth for 500 rupees, I believe, but you can also get it from the (Spoiler - Highlight) Excavation, F-1, north-east corner, using the hammer, then dropping down to the floor below from where you got the L2 wallet.

well...! some times while fighting. Link get confused among foes in the same room.........
and I thought was controlling that blue darknut .....really confused.l.. icon_blink.gif icon_eek.gif icon_wacky.gif

FYI, I have encountered all of the same bugs in Marathon as TonyB17 in post #837, and have also not found the Marathon boss key. However, when I went to explore, I was still allowed to proceed deep into the Deku Jungle past where it said I needed the entire triforce. I found both hall of statues and the corrupt deku tree. Am I not supposed to be there yet? Is there a purpose to hall of statues? Deku Tree is the final level, right? I don't want to jump ahead to places I'm not supposed to be yet.

I don't know if you can beat the game without beating Marathon. (For that matter, I don't know if you can beat the game at all yet; I'm working on the Deku Tree now.) But you certainly will want to have gotten the mirror shield, since there are just as many mirrorobes in the Deku Tree as there were in Marathon. (The mirror shield is also mandatory for the final boss of the game.)

As for how to get the boss key in Marathon:

Did you ever figure out how to get to these stairs?
IPB Image
To get there, head up to the far top-left corner of F2. (Bring your fire boomerang to disarm two rooms' worth of red bubbles.) Go south to a treasure chest containing the map, then south again. You'll be on a seemingly useless ledge. But there's an invisible bridge there (can be revealed by the lens), and that invisible bridge will take you south to that staircase.

The staircase brings you to F3, where there are a handful of rooms. At that point you'll have to bang your head against the wall a bit to find a false wall that isn't in the middle of a room (and also isn't revealed by the lens). Kill all the darknuts in the room you get to via the false wall to reveal the boss key.

As for Statues, it seems to be mostly useless beyond, I believe, a piece of heart. The secret is that Statues is effectively the basement of the Deku Tree. If you fall through holes in the floor in the Deku Tree, you'll end up in one of the rooms that are shuttered off from if you enter Statues from the front. And then you have to exit Statues and go back through the jungle to the front of the Deku Tree again. No fun.

I've been messing with the Deku Tree a bit tonight and I can tell it's going to walk a fine line between wanting to press on, and so sadistic it's barely worth it.

One thing that bothers me in this quest is how unreliable the lens of truth are, yes, they reveal a lot of secrets, but some of them are still hidden just for the sake of it and just makes you spin in places without any direction... I wonder if it really was intended to be that way. In any case, I don't like it =/

Edit: So... in which room is the walkeable wall? this is getting frustrating icon_lol.gif Forget it, I found it haha icon_razz.gif

Did I miss the master key somewhere? Or a key shop somewhere in the game? There are locked doors everywhere in Deku Tree. Everytime I make some progress I come to a locked door and I'm stuck.

There are keys all over in the Deku Tree and the magic key can be found there.
Generally, the second half of Deku Tree is easier than the first.

Is there an entrance to the Deku Tree level OTHER than what you are referring to as the "cliffside entrance?" Because that could explain why I'm so bleeping stuck. E is the only compass direction I can have on F1. I can have E or S on parts of F2. I've obtained some keys in the statues area but used them all and don't have any more. I think I've checked every room, looked for dive warps in every pool, and blown the whistle in every room without corruption, which I assume is the purple stuff. I am as stuck as stuck can be, but, if I'm missing an entrance, that would do it.

Edit: Hold off on answering for now. I looked through the thread and I think maybe I found my answer.

Edit2: Well holy hell. It's amazing the difference when you do things in the order the creator intended.

I read earlier in the thread that I need the "N" compass direction to access the Deku boss key on F2. My question is, do I need to head up to the 2nd floor with the direction facing north, or do I change it once I am already up there? Do I find the boss key before or after I do the whistle warp room?

Edit: Yeah, I'm stumped. I've looked all over both 1st and 2nd floors with "N" and I can't find the dive warp that leads to the boss key. I found the dive warp that leads to the boss room, but not the boss key.

Oh, the dive warp is two screens to the west of the screen you arrive in when you take the cliff-side entrance to the south-side of F-1. Dive near the bottom of the screen, then just go right. icon_shrug.gif It'll likely only work if you've defeated the other bosses though, first, while walking around.

Makes sense. I had probably been there once before prior to defeating the bosses. I was looking all over and here it was under my nose. Happy to say I have finally beaten Dreams of Yesterday. It's an incredible, epic, remarkable game and 1000x thank you for fixing it up so more players can experience it. It's greatly appreciated. It only took 40+ hours of playtime, 72 deaths (would have been much higher had I not gotten the gold tunic relatively early), and more trips to the help thread than I can count, but I did it. Now I have to decide what to play next. Whatever it is I think it will be something much shorter and easier.

Lost Isle. ... *snerk* ... lol I dunno. It's all good. Go play Lost Isle. icon_razz.gif

But seriously, congratulations on finishing it. It's a pretty darn amazing thing. On my most recent Play-through, I got the Gold Tunic as fast as possible. I mean literally, as soon as possibly accessible. It doesn't even take much. Just the L1 Bracelet to leave the starting area, the Flippers to get through the mudora muck to the excavation, a sword to defeat the Super Darknuts in that walk-through wall area, and however many relics. That's it. Even the Fire Boomerang can be gotten as soon as you hit the bottom floor. Makes things a ton easier.

One last thing that's been bugging me, is that "stop" barrier in the swamp anything?

Oh that's just me being pro-active and planning a new dungeon or something there. Admittedly, I don't really have any plans for it yet. icon_unsettled.gif I think it was actually a "building" that never actually led anywhere. It was just sort of ... there. icon_shrug.gif So rather than actually delete the thing, I figure I'd use it for something.

But what. icon_glare.gif *Sherlock-Holmes Bubble Pipe*
