My shop teacher gave us the day off after lunch, and I spent the entire time looking up Skyward Sword details and watching trailers. I can arguably say that it was the best afternoon in shop this year icon_razz.gif

I'll have you know that A Link to the Past is better than all those games combined. icon_blah.gif

I'm not replaying any games before it comes out though; my slowly-going ALttP LP doesn't count. Besides, I got Mario 3D Land to worry about. icon_deformed.gif

It looks really good, I know! I love impressionistic paintings really much but its strange for a video game.

I blame this on the Euro-American notion that cartoons are for children... Which is false.
The only reason it's strange for a video game is because people are obsessed with making realistic graphics that never quite look right.

A majority of my favorite games don't use photorealistic graphics. Stylism is the much easier approach to avoiding the uncanny valley and is able to convey emotion more easily. How about avoiding the "realistic" wagon instead shooting for "beautiful?"

...I need to get a TV or figure out my capture cable so I can play it when I get my hands on it...

Yeah, in the past week or 2, I've been getting into the older Zelda games again. Started off playing Twilight Princess and am now going through the desert, and in the last couple days I've done a runthrough of Ocarina of Time 3D and just havethe Spirit Temple and Ganon's Tower left. I want to pick up a copy of Wind Waker again, and run through that again before Skyward Sword releases. Depends on how cheap I can get it for.

Yeah, I'm actually replaying quite a few, as previously stated. Well, I only have the Spirit Temple, and Ganon's Tower left in OoT3D, I have ... wow... just looked up how many I have in TP, and it's... Arbiter's Grounds, Snowpeak Ruins, Temple of Time, City in the Sky, Palace of Twilight, Hyrule Castle, so quite a bit left to do in that..., and I just picked up Wind Waker for $15, and want to play through that, but I don't know if I will have the time to do that. Plus I wanted to run through LttP quick, but that'll take at least a couple more hours. Oh wow, plus there is only 6 days left now. icon_lol.gif

icon_lol.gif You say that like I've never played it before! Yeah, I've played it quite a few times, but sold my copy when I needed some money. It is a wonderful game, and the comedy in it is great. My favorite part is when Link gets launched from the catapult. Truly a wonderful sight, with his facial expressions, and the awesome scream he lets out while flying through the air. icon_lol.gif Great stuff. I might... MIGHT put off playing SS until I have these games completed though, but we'll see how I feel about that, considering how excited I am to play the new game. icon_biggrin.gif

Dude, really? It would be nice if you put that stuff in spoiler tags. None of us here have played it yet, if you haven't noticed.

I didn't even know those were what we were collected in the game. Thanks, Jerk.

Wait - I thought it wasn't out yet?? According to Wikipedia the earliest release date is the 18th... or are you a professional reviewer who gets games for free ahead of time?

The reviews are definitely over hyping it just like they do with every other Zelda. I'm about half way through Skyward Sword right now, thoughts on it so far. Warning, contains spoilers about game design and mechanics.

Spoiler

Let me finish with a quote from IGN that let's me bring the game reviews down to Earth.
QUOTE
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is, in my opinion, the greatest Zelda game ever created and one of the best launch titles in the history of launch titles – second only, perhaps, to the at-the-time ground-breaking Super Mario 64. -IGN on Twilight Princess

Modern day game review sites are a joke. Be prepared for a fun game, not a revolutionary one.
