Lol, that seems to happen a lot in this game. One second you're 1 to 5 levels over your opposing Trainer's Pokemon, and the next, you have some mega grinding to do. Not necessarily a bad thing; Prevent people form becoming TOO pwnsome without effort.
Ahh, now see here we have a problem. I still haven't played the game so I can't really judge its difficulty, but this is something that really bugs me about Pokémon in general. Challenge is good, there's no denying that, and of course the level of challenge should always be increasing, but huge jumps in challenge, especially in RPGs are awful. This is because of the level of level-grinding that is required on the player's part that go along with these enormous jumps in difficulty. It's long, boring, tedious, and it stops the game dead. It's never even particularly difficult, either, just time-consuming. I've dedicated entire days just to level-grinding. It's annoying, and it's always been my absolute least favorite thing about the series. Stupid-looking Pokémon? Can be mildly annoying. Unimpressive graphics? Tolerable. But level-grinding? Dear Lord.

Sorry, just had to rant about that a bit. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

I know right!? The Routes are no longer just "hallways" but actually LARGE open areas full of detail and vividness!

I beat the final Trainer. I was lucky enough to have Revenge on my Samurott on his Dragon Pokemon. Anyway, the ending the great. It's about time a Pokemon game had a great story.

So I got to playing this today for the first time. Got Black and started with Snivy. I liked the fire one (Can't recall his name off hand) but I wasn't fond of the water one. But in the end, I liked Snivy the most.

I got the Pokedex and am in route 1. Then I wanted to go play Phoenix Wright again. >_> Once I finish that up, though, I'll probably start tearing through here. That is, until I can borrow the second Phoenix Wright game. :B

If I hadn't known I was playing Pokemon and watched the intro, I would have never guessed I was playing a Pokemon game. (Aside from that one scene that may have given it away) I'm looking forward to seeing where this one goes. :3

I wonder if anyone else noticed that there's a bug with Triple Battles.

Basically, if your opponent knocks out two of your Pokemon on the same turn, and if you have more than one Pokemon left in reserve, then you can't switch in two Pokemon at once, thus causing you to get stuck.

Unless anyone knows how to remedy this, let this be a fair forewarning. If you're going to do a Triple Battle, be it with CPU or Human, SAVE FIRST.

EDIT: Nevermind what I just said. Apparently, you're not stuck, but rather that if two Pokemon are knocked out, what you have to do is choose the one to send out, then the Pokemon that it is replacing. Then you get to choose the second one.

It's really easy to EXP farm after beating the game. I found a place where defeating each Wild Pokemon gives you over 3000 EXP.

Actually, it's second stage is called Pignite.

Woah!

That's what I get for choosing Smugleaf as my lead.

2 badgers down. 6 to go.

I hate that, icon_sweat.gif...Magikarp are so puny and give wimpy EXP. Such a waste of a battle. If they did that with the Isshu Fish we fought against on Route 4 (name escapes me at the moment), it'd be more worthwhile.

Is anyone ready for a Wifi Battle? The online certainly got better, but it's still a bit choppy. Think Pokemon Battle Revolution.

I might be up to it later. Currently in the fourth gym. My team:

Skipper, the level 25 Dewott
Fuego, the level 24 Simisear
Scaler, the level 24 Sandile
Archy, the level 25 Archae whatever bird fossil
Frosty, the level 28 Cubchoo (traded to me a friend)

Kudos to anybody who can tell me what two puns make up Scaler's name. One's obvious, one's not.

So far, I'm kinda unimpressed. I don't see why everybody's calling it the greatest Pokemon ever. Most of the new Pokemon range from "meh" to crap, and the game overall is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too linear. The gym puzzles are boring, and though the graphics (which they try to show off at every possible moment) are better than previous gens, they're still sub-par compared to what the DS can handle. The story's the only thing that's actually impressing me, and even then, it's probably just because I'm not used to having actual stories in Pokemon games.

Providing anyone's in the post game and have their Pokemon between Levels 60 and 65, I'm all set to go for Wi-Fi battles.

@Russ: Just keep in mind that wherever a person thinks that Black and White is the best pokemon game or not is their own opponion. You may not like it much, but others may love it; so I think everyone should shun away from saying they don't understand why some people think it is so great.

I'm getting ready to battle the second gym, and level-grinding is gonna be a pain when it comes to Purrlion and Blitzle, espically that I have to grind them up to lv 18.

Current party:

Pansear: lv 17.

Blitzle: lv 15.

Purrlion: lv 13.

Munna: lv 20.

Dewott: lv 20.

Herdier: lv 20.

Why exactly? Thoughts like these are exactly what sparks a conversation, and... well, we're pretty much here to share our thoughts on topics anyway, so I'd think that's a pretty fair question for him to make, regardless if it means you have to explain why it's the best Pokemon game or not icon_razz.gif

In my own personal opinion, so far, it's without a doubt the best since Gold and Silver, but it's still roughly the same game. I mean, yes, there are new additions, new pokemon, and new gymleaders... but I still feel like I've played this game 16 or 17 times icon_razz.gif That's a lot. But as I said, it's the best since Gold and Silver... yet it's not overwhelming, because there's really not enough new in it for me to be able to call it a "brand new game", which it technically is... and that's sad. But either way, that's from a review-point of view. I couldn't possibly give the game more than a 7, or perhaps an 8. There's just too much of the "same old" content. That does not in any way mean that it's not lots of fun though. icon_razz.gif
