Thanks much; my pleasure really. It's hard to deny that the quest deserve quite the spit-shine.

Also, those guys in Subrosia, ... I have no idea why they're not talking. They have a Guy and a String, and are in an Interior type Dmap. That should be all the criteria necessary for a string to play.

I'll do my best to fix these bugs before I leave on Tuesday. Marathon is definitely one area that I haven't really been looking at as seriously as I should. ._. It's ... ... huge. XD

I'm going to Otakon in Baltimore (USA's) Inner Harbor from Tuesday the 24th and coming back Monday Evening, July 30th. Tuesday to Tuesday.

In the meantime, enjoy the new Spinning Spirit Tracks Rupees that Moo2wo ripped that I ripped into DoY. They're pretty neat. Perhaps I'll even add a little scripted element to the bigger ones with a pick-up message.

I am seemingly getting stuck in almost every level now. I am having a terrible time in Volcano. I feel like I am going in circles through all these pipes. I have the boss key. I have not obtained an item nor a relic. Is there anything other than the red tunic? Because if not I don't care, since I already have the gold.

What is really frustrating is I've been to the boss room door once already but can't for the life of me duplicate the feat. How do I get there from the entrance? And am I even ready to go there since I haven't obtained an item yet? Does anyone remember how to get the relic from the entrance? And a hint guy said something about pipes you can bomb, but I haven't come across any pipes that scream out to be bombed nor show anything with the lens.

I love this game but I feel like perhaps it's a little above my pay grade.

By the time I played this,, the only thing I did, from the entrance go up, open your way to the upper side
from there I found way to beat the place, that's all I can remember , sorry would like to be of more help!

I continue to go in circles in the volcano. It has been hours. There are a couple places where I can get stuck and have to save and go back to my house, one in particular where if I fall down from F-2 to F-1 in the SE part of the level I am stuck, and another where I can get stuck in a room with bubbles where dodongos are on the wrong side of a block and I can't kill them to trigger it to disappear.

So anyone who maybe remembers knows what I have done, I have obtained the boss key, a map on F-3, a heart container piece or two, I think two keys (both used), I can get to a room where a guy gives me a hint to use a mirror against the boss, a room where I am given a hint to bomb pipes, and defeated a gleeok on F-3. I can explore most of F-3 but can't find a path of advancement. I haven't found an item or a relic stone. I am to the point where I am giving up until someone can give me a hint where to go.

So frustrating. I am sure I was at the boss door once before I had a boss key, but now I am wondering if I imagined it as I can't get back there. I don't care if I get the red tunic since I have the gold.

Okay, I'm looking at a very sluggish ZQuest here on my laptop in the hotel. In order, here is a step by step process to get to the boss room in the Volcano.


There is a stairs up from the First Floor in the northeast corner of the volcano. Here's the stairs.
Take the stairs up.
Go south.
Go south (That door was previously locked)
In the room with the blue darknuts, the many conveyors on the floor, and red lava floors, take the stairs.
Go west.
Enter the pipe.
Go east.
Kill all enemies. Go east.
Kill all enemies, making a door appear on the south wall. Do not enter the pipe. Go south, and you'll be in clear view of the boss room.

I absolutely know exactly how to get where you are talking about. I don't remember ever making a door appear upon killing all the enemies in a room, but, perhaps I never killed them all for some reason. I'll try that and let you know what happens in a post edit later today. I'll assume I haven't missed an item. Thanks Shadow! I didn't know if you'd be checking in while in MD.

Edit: That did it. Boss down. The boss was a pain. I don't know why I never killed all the enemies in that room again or thought to try. If you know, was there a relic in Volcano or the caves surrounding it? I still have the magic (L2) boomerang and I'd love to upgrade but I have no relic right now. I used them all to get the gold ring.

I'm beginning to think I might pull this off. I think I slightly preferred HoD to this overall in terms of level design, but, this is still one of the longest, hardest and most epic games out there. I again can't thank you enough for your bugfixing work so that more people can enjoy this masterpiece. Are you going to formally submit it to the DB at some point?

Sure. No problem. Yeah, there don't seem to be any unique items (Equipment-wise) in the Volcano besides the Red Ring.

Tip for the boss: The top of the screen is your friend.

Not really stuck, just some questions. Is there an objective in the mirror level? I've obtained a bunch of heart container pieces and stuff in there but I'm not really finding much else. And was there an objective in the vines level besides beating the boss, turning it brown, and going outside and getting the thing?

Yep, it is to obtain one of the 2 medals to make an event happen that I suppose will let you enter marathon... however it seems that due to a glitch, when you go to the sword altar you cannot proceed and the word test appears on the screen (there is a quick warp to marathon so you can bypass this). But it's fun to have a go at mirrors, besides there is a fun boss at the end

I'm through to Marathon. Is it completable in it's current form or should I wait for an update before diving in too deep?

Yes, you can beat Marathon now; I completed it a couple of days ago. There are still some bugs that TonyB noted above (#830 and 837), and so you'll probably have to F6 a couple of times in the process, but you can beat it.

Ha ha why should he change that now? i dont understand this!!!!

There are WAY too many Link sprites in the combo pages for cutscenes to make any alterations. They're all over the tiles pages too, which by the way are a complete and total mess beyond all hope and reason.

I'll be back in my working environment after Tuesday, though that's likely when I'll be doing my hard drive format and backup. Give it a week.


The hall of mirrors also has a shop where you can buy the Lens of Truth for 500 rupees, I believe, but you can also get it from the (Spoiler - Highlight) Excavation, F-1, north-east corner, using the hammer, then dropping down to the floor below from where you got the L2 wallet.
