Oh god.

I like a lot of stuff on the hub right now, but the Strawberry Shortcake reboot is EXACTLY as bad as you'd expect. No surprise there, which is odd since I even enjoy Transformers Prime (I have never shown any interest in Transformers, EVER)

I changed my post. Since transformers wasn't 100% relevant I decided to admit that I even enjoyed the reboot of Winx Club (FFFFFFF-! MY LIFE!)

I can understand people liking this show; it seems kind of funny and at the very least entertaining, but the insane fanboyism boggles my mind There are many other shows that a lot of people like, or games that a lot of people like, but I have never seen something to this level... like there is a thread for it on almost every forum I find. Also the most passionate fans get a title... it's kind of scary.

It shouldn't be as good as it is, and that's why we love it. The characters and situations are versatile to the point that the subject matter is ideal for fan-based parodies, fan fiction, and even original MLP-inspired music.

Not to mention the studios absolutely love the fanbase and are constantly trolling us with behind-the-scenes pics and stuff. Everyone is getting ravenous for season 2, and that only serves to make the herd a larger collective existence.

It's infectious, and very few people have seen the show without becoming hooked.

Lol. As someone who has seen the 80s series, I was rather hoping that the Sea Ponies would never worm their way into FiM.

Holy crap. Became a brony as a result of Boy Scout camp?? I'm an Eagle scout, and I can tell you that that is ironic, and for SO many reasons more than the fact that it's called Boy Scouts.

For those of you non-scouts, I'll sum it up: in my experience, nowhere do run a greater risk of being made fun of for being a pansy than at Boy Scout summer camp. It's not like I never had any fun at it, but it's usually a bad idea to put 10+ adolescent boys out in the woods with nothing to do, unless they're at least partially supervised. And there aren't enough adults to supervise 100% of the time.

I can't claim to know what things were like when you were a scout, but the majority of the people in my troop have always been enormous nerds. Round here, scouts tend not to be the manliest bunch. And most of us were already fully aware of MLP's recent popularity, so it just ended up not being a huge deal. I mean, we all joked about it and stuff; him and I constantly threw the words "furfag" and "ponyfag," respectively, back and forth jokingly, which was pretty amusing. But it's not like he was ostracized for it or anything. He's one of the higher-ups anyway (17, Life, in the Senior Patrol), so it's not like the younger kids really had that choice.

I'm curious whether he brought any pony-related items to the camp. If he did, my mind is officially blown. That kid would have to have more balls than the NBA.

I don't think he did. Would have been pretty awesome if he did, though, looking back on it.
