Jr. is put in the name when hatched from an egg. That was one hectic battle! Oh, I also caught Lugia (Luke).

Catch rate is only effected my Status problems and health as far as I'm aware. Though my friend once caught Mewtwo with a Pokeball as soon as the battle started...Redunkulouz.
Well yeah, but it's still random. If I paralyzed something/put it asleep and knocked its HP down to 1, there's still a random chance of not catching it.
Alright, so after getting my last gym badge in SS, I decided to venture out for Lugia.
I lowered its attack as low as it could go with Feather Dance, paralyzed it, lowered its accuracy as low as it could go with Flash, smacked it down to 1 HP, and when I began throwing Pokeballs at it... HOLY CRAP!! I threw 25 ultra balls and 13 dusk balls before I caught the stupid thing! Since I was very unhappy with that, I reset my game and went at it again. And guess what? Two dusk balls and I had it. TWO.
See? Totally random.

Legendaries can be tough. In Platinum, I caught Zapdos with one lucky quick ball, but Articuno took 70+ balls. You never know what to expect.

Typhlosion, Ampharos, Heracross, Azumarill, Bellossom, and Crobat, all 'round level 45 or so.
But, after Surge, I think I'll breeze through the rest of the game pretty easy-style. ^^'
It took me a while to get here 'cause I'm trying to appreciate every aspect of this game; there're so many little things, it's awesome! I haven't been past Vermillion yet, but so far, Kanto = awesome * nostalgic!

Yeah, I know.
Anyways, I decided I'd try and scrape some experience from the Elite Four since my team is still pretty weak, and they're all uber'd up...I got passed Will before Koga wiped out everything I had. :B

I didn't work too much on my Electric party (Pichu, Raichu, Pikachu, Plusle, Minun, and Pidgeot for transport
I totally managed to cheat with the Pokéwalker: I forgot it was in my pocket when I went for a ride on the four-wheeler, and when I came back up and found it in my pocket, it had added up a whole bunch of steps. So every time I went for a ride, I took the Pokéwalker with me.
Well... It's been awhile, but I'll list my current party.
- Lv. 52 Charizard
- Lv. 100 Typhlosion
- Lv. 86 Pidgeot
- Lv. 86 Victreebel
- Lv. 87 Gyarados
- Lv. 86 Golem

I determined which Leader's type of Pokémon were best matches for each of my Pokémon, changed the DS's time, then just fought over and over again. Most of them had Pokérus while I did it, so that boosted their stats.

Anybody remember the Trainer House in Viridian City in the original G/S/C, where you would fight a trainer named Cal who had a Typhlosion, Meganium, and Feraligatr, all at level 50? Anybody remember how, if you did Mystery Gift with someone else, Cal would be replaced with the person you did Mystery Gift with?
Well, my sister and I found out you can do something similar to Mystery Gift with each other's Pokéwalkers. Sometimes you get dinky items like Potions, but occasionally you can get something better, like a shard.
Anyways, I didn't really think about the Trainer House thing. In fact, when I found out that your team gets forced down to level 50 and you only get Battle Points for fighting Cal, I gave up on it quickly, but something drew me to go back and try it out. So imagine my shock when not only Cal's there, but a female NPC as well. When I talked to her, she had the same name and team as my sister's character. It was pretty interesting, actually, and cool that you could now fight every trainer you Mystery Gift with and Cal, instead of them being replaced each time.
Oh, and I'm not dissing Battle Points anymore, after I found out you can guy Protein, Carbos, etc. at the Battle Frontier for only one point each. :O
