Indeed, ST, indeed.

Y'know, out of Melee's clone characters, Luigi has the best chance of any of 'em to show up in Brawl, 'cause only about half of his attacks were like Mario's. He'd still have some of the same attacks. I mean, he is Mario's brother. But his down-B would use the Poltergust.

Ganondorf could also be in Brawl...as a hybrid sword/magic user or something.

I see nothing wrong with making hopes or wishes about SSBB. If they're within the realm of possibility, then it's ok. Saying "I wish for PS3 graphics" is not within the realm of possibility. Any certain character that Nintendo may be able to get legal rights to is within the realm of possibility.

Examples: King Dedede, Simon Belmont (because Konami is taking part in Brawl, as well, with Snake. It's not a proven fact whether or not Konami wants to add others.), Wolf O' Donnell.

I can't say the same for Sonic, Vyse, and others, because it is not clear whether Sega has taken part or not. So for now, let's assume Sega hasn't taken part at all.

Making rumors is a bad thing, as well, so unless you have any media proof (news or whatever) about something that will/will not be in Brawl, I'm going to take it as a false rumor.

One of the reasons why I'd rather see this thread free from "wishes" and "hopes" (Like seeing Sonic in Brawl.) is that it could contribute to the rumor mill. It can confuse people an unnecessary degree. This thread is best off discussing SSBB's future as it is now, rather than as it could be, inclusive of the newly introduced features and why they are good or bad, rather than what fictive elements are good or bad.

We are discussing and critiquing SSBB as we see it, not as we hope it to be. No sense critiquing Sonic's presence when he's clearly not in it yet.

Certainly physically possible, but we've all been down that road a million times, and seeing someone else say it is just as unsatisfying as saying it ourselves. We wish we had it too, but, .. where is it.

But the "Sonic in Brawl" wishfulness is old and played out. We'd have to say something else, like, "I wish Master Chief was in Brawl."

Or "I wish Barney was in Brawl."

... or "I wish Bob was in Brawl."

The great creator of Metal Gear graciously asked Shigeru Miyamoto (may he be preserved) for Snake to appear in Melee, but alas, the great fight was too far into development. As a compensation, Miyamoto (may he be preserved) promised that Snake would appear in the next great tournament. Amen.



I don't recall the source, but anyone with adequate Google skills should be able to find the same information. Regarding Snake's moveset, I imagine he'll be a more graceful Captain Falcon (NOT a clone, God not a clone). I mean in the way that he fights... mainly straight "Fist to Face" style with a few neat tricks. For Captain Falcon, it was the "Falcon Punch/Kick/Dive". For Snake, it will be WEAPOWNZERZ. Nintendo has said that real guns won't appear, but explosives are entirely acceptable (Snake was already seen with some sort of explosives cannon, see second trailer) and I'm guessing that's what his B-moves will encompass.

So the Hammer has a more powerful cousin, now. Dang. I'm expecting instant KOs from this one. And... whoa. Floating in midair... . I wonder what the squeaky golden hammer sounds like, though. That would be funny, scaring everyone silly, picking up that hammer, and then when you hit someone, *SQUEAK*. Everyone moves in to jump the hammer person.
