He doesn't learn Psychic until Lv 64 I believe.

Has anyone caught a Surfing Pikachu or a Pikachu that can Fly in the Pokéwalker Route Yellow Forest?
Nope, but I have the route on my PokeWalker ready to get one or the other, hopefully both.

Well, Lapras is my favorite. Plenty of HP, and his dual water/ice typing gives him STAB for surf and ice beam. Plus, he can learn moves like psychic, confuse ray, etc. Kingdra, on the other hand, has only one weakness, making him pretty good. Other than that, he's just okay, in my opinion.

I had a Kingdra in Platinum, and it wasn't really that great. Isn't it bad to evolve your Pokemon early? I evolved my Seadra immediately after Horsea evolved.

Well, they learn moves quicker when they're unevolved. But the evolved forms are more powerful. So it's a trade-off; power for moves.

in the case of Kingdra vs Seadra i would think the difference (besides stats) would be the type of moves they learn
not nessicarily the levels they learn them.
it's like the comparrison between syther and sizor, just different moves and status (and type)

The choice between Kingdra and Lapras is pretty dependent on what you need in your party; if you need a dragon killer then Lapras is great, whereas if you need a stout attacker Kingdra is a better choice. Kingdra beats Lapras in all stats except Special Defense (which it ties) and HP. STAB Dragon-Type is also great since it's resisted only by Steel. Kingdra can also learn Ice Beam, but with most other Dragon-types being faster and being able to pack super-effective Dragon Claws and Outrages, there's really not a lot of usefulness to it.

Overall I say go with Vaporeon. icon_razz.gif It has a great Special Attack (beating both Lapras and Kingdra) and a high HP (tying with Lapras). You're not getting dual-STAB, but you're only weak to two types which are usually special, allowing its above-average Special Defense to soak up blows. Wish, Protect, Surf, and Ice Beam/Toxic allow you to stall indefinitely against anything that can't 2HKO you, and if you opt for Toxic they are losing ever-increasing health each turn. True, it's offensive movepool isn't quite as good as Kingra's, but you really don't need it with something that can take hits like a champ.

I went ahead and got Kingdra and so far (a female Kingdra), she's WAY better than the Platinum Kingdra I got. Almost all her stats are in the 90s at Level 40. As for her moveset, I got Attract/Ice Beam/Surf/Dragon Pulse.

@Ebola Zaire - I already have a Vaporeon in Platinum.

Well, Vaporeon sounds good, but I can't get over its looks. It's my least favorite looking of the Eeveelutions (well, maybe second, Espeon's ugly), and I only go for Pokemon whose design I like. icon_razz.gif

I haven't beaten Red yet, but I know once I do, there's not going to be much else to do...wish we could take the Fast Ship to Hoenn icon_razz.gif. I don't want to start over too soon either...

Has anybody used the Pokewalker yet? I think is an awesome little gadget. I used it today and caught a Ponyta and a Nidoran and found a couple items xD
It makes me feel like i'm really walking with my Pokemon.

I got the Magby on the PokeWalker, and it's part of my normal party. It's a Magmar now though, but it's done so much for me. I get it ready the night before, and I take it to work with me and everything. I have my Gamestop Jirachi on it, in Yellow Forest right now. icon_biggrin.gif

Man, Tyranatar's a beast in this game. Especially when using Avalanche. Should I keep Rock Slide, or should I trade it for Stone Edge and use PP Up? All I need to do is train my Kingdra to Level 60 to balance out my party.
