That is really good, Jared. And i know about the area's story, so i wont complain about the trees
Subrada Village:

Thoughts?
I don't know about you, but I don't think those houses really blend in well with the environment, it's all brown and grainy or whatever and then there are perfect white houses. Doesn't seem right

Rover - What do you mean? I should add more cracks, make a duller white, etc?

HK - Well, I dont think it clashes too much, and i dont really see any problems with it. Also, they are not outlines, they are part of the walls. Also, what do you mean by wizzrobe? If it is because a subrosian doesnt fit the enviroment, they are Subrana. Check my quest thread and you'll see a front facing one.
Yes, there are outlines. Around the cactus, the pots, and the subrosian. Also the house, even though they are supposed to be part of the walls. The subrosian TILE does not fit at all in the surrounding area. GB graphics look incredibly odd in classic. What i said was that I think you could use one of the wizzrobe tiles as an inhabitant of the village, just edit has arms to be facing down instead of up. It would look leagues better. Another thing is the weird white outline around the water. I suggest you remove that.

Didnt you read my last post? They are not Subrosian. Subrada.

Yeah, i can't. Wizzrobes appear in the game already. And, being as 'special' as they are, it would be wierd for them to appear in more than one area. At Least for me it would.
Oh yeah. That's because the water tiles are in another c-set, since there is no blue in the 'desert' pallet. But i'll take care of that.

Edit: One last thing, you know there are already classic cactus tiles right?

They dint look the same to me without the outlines. There are other tiles that also use black outlines. They might be a little clashy, but I dont think that is a serious problem. It isnt, right?
yeah, i know there are cacti tiles, but i like doing my own sprites.

What borders look better for this dungeon? What else do you think about my dungeon screen design?

I personally prefer the first. I'm probably going to get stoned to death for saying this, but the MUST BORDER EVERYTHING mentality is getting a bit stale. Yes it separates floor tiles from water tiles, but only SOME floor tiles need this type of transition...

Jared - not really, they are a bit more yellow. Making it darker would end up weird.

Is this better?

The house does look a little better now.
However, there are a couple things you could do that would improve the screen itself. For one, add some more mountain tiles in the southern and eastern parts of the screen. It may be a desert, but it doesn't have to be so flat and open. You might also want to get rid of the southernmost cactus, the one that's half on another screen. Only the very tip of it will be visible ingame, so if the tile is only half walkable there will seem to be an invisible barrier there, and it there isn't the player runs the risk of running into either a solid object or a damaging tile with almost no indication there's one there.
Also, the cacti themselves are kinda bugging me. I think the problem is how their outline is significantly lighter than the plant itself. Maybe use a more medium-hue green for the cactus and use a dark green or black outline?
