Don't worry. I just want to make a simple statement. I really don't want to cause any trouble then I already have.

To the people who think OoT 3DS is a waste of time and money. You can not buy it and think it's a stupid idea. Sure. It's your right to have an opinion. (I just wish I could just debate with you with out hurting feelings or getting out of line. I'll work hard on it and will think before I post more often icon_wink.gif )

Anyway, Do any of you own Zelda collectors addition or Ocarina of Time and Master Quest for game cube? If you do and think Oot 3ds is a waste of money, it's kinda being a hypocrite. I mean, if you own a port with no differences at all and think it's fine, but think port with a little added content and completely remade graphics is a waste of money? That's just silly.

This is kind of the same thing as well. When you owned a VCR with a movie you really like but when DVD's came out, you buy a DVD player and buy the movie on DVD. It doesn't really add anything. Maybe special features, but it's not remade in any way. Same goes for OoT 3ds. The N64 is out of date so you buy a 3DS and get Oot 3DS because the N64 copy was old. See what I'm talking about?

Also, just a few things that make the 3DS copy better.
#1: Obviously the beautiful remade graphics that make the ambiance just feel so great.
#2: It's portable and you can take it for boring ass trips icon_razz.gif
#3: It's f***ing Zelda! If your a big fan like me, you couldn't just not buy it.

Now you can still think about it the same way. I just wanted to say how I felt about it in a much more mature manor.
I hope you understand what I'm talking about. Sorry to any one I offended. Didn't notice if I was icon_razz.gif

Well the difference with the Collector's Edition and the OoT/MQ discs is, well, it's still playable on Wii. And depending on how the new Nintendo console handles backwards-compatibility, maybe even that too. Plus, Collector's Edition and OoT/MQ may have been some people's first chance to play OoT, so there's another difference. Some people have even said that OoT 3D will be their first chance to play or beat the game at all. Oh, and OoT's already on the Virtual Console as well. So it's not really "out of date" because it's readily available to anyone with a current-gen system anyway. icon_blah.gif

Also I still watch videos from time to time. Not often but still. icon_frown.gif

You have a good point. I still think they should at lease make OoT 3DS a little less expensive then a regular 3DS game. I mean, it still uses the expensive technology to make it have 3DS graphics. But since the original came out almost 13 years ago, it should be at least
a bit less expensive you know?

At least it's cheaper than the Star Fox 64 remake if this scan is to be believed (fourth from the bottom; original source here). Still, I'm gonna have to agree; $40 is slightly steep. But then again, it was about that much in the OoT/MQ disc, so eh.

I think the hookshot cursor changing is more or less the way of saying "You can reach this" as opposed to the red dot that didn't change regardless.
Didn't think about that. Still, that kinda cheapens it. I'd rather not know how far I have to walk to use the hookshot; makes it more fun. Or something. This was a lame argument. I guess I really don't care. icon_heh.gif

You're forgetting something. The Gamecube version had Master Quest. As in 9 new dungeons added. That's a HUGE difference from the 64 version. The GC version adds infinitely more new stuff to the game than the 3DS version does, enough to call it a different game from the 64 version in all practical terms. So yeah, just thought I'd point that out.

Not to mention I got the GC version for ten bucks, as opposed to forty, so there is that too. icon_deformed.gif

Either way, Nintendo has kept revealing new stuff, so chances are that there may be some new stuff added. Discussing about a games worth before it's out is kind of pointless. It's like writing a review of a game that haven't been released; there's no way you could give it a fair rating.

That said, I'm not "siding" with anyone here. I somewhat agree with Russ, if there are no new stuff added other than what we've already seen, that is a missed opportunity on Nintendo's side. I'll still play it though, but then again I won't have to pay for it either icon_shrug.gif Not sure if I'd buy it or not otherwise, though I probably would icon_razz.gif I mean, it's Ocarina of Time, and say what you want about graphics and aesthetics, but I love me some good lookin' games. Graphics-whore? No, aesthetics-whore (Read: gigolo)? Very much so.

I agree with Robin. You never know if they are going to add anything new. Just because you haven't seen it in the trailers, doesn't mean there isn't anything new. Just think about Dawnlight. He doesn't want to spoil anything. So maybe Nintendo is just keeping things "classified". icon_razz.gif

I sure hope they do add something new. Maybe just a few side quest would be enough for me. But it's mostly just a 100% better quality version.

I was thinking there would be a prize for completing Boss Rush mode (One after another) maybe? Or getting 100% on MQ and the original? Makes sense to me!

The red dot served the exact same purpose as whatever it is doing now. The red dot in OoT only appears if the hookshot is in range of something.

... and I totally forgot about that. Go me. But you're right; kinda makes the red beam even more useless, but it doesn't get in the way of anything. Besides, it looks kinda cool...

Collector's Edition had four games, plus a demo (and I got it for free. Take that, Russ!). OoT 3D has one game, plus a few gimmicks. Yes, Master Quest was a port, but it was a port that had never been previously released (and also one that came free with a pre-order of Wind Waker). It was originally going to be released on the 64DD, which was a total flop and never released outside of Japan, so in turn, Master Quest, or URAZelda, wasn't released until the Gamecube.

I completely agree with the first part of your statement, it doesn't add anything (besides higher resolution, but I don't really care). There's a reason why I still own six VHS of Lord of the Rings Special Extended Edition. I never understood the whole "it's old so it's bad" thing, it just seems like a waste of money to me.

#1: No huge argument about the graphics, but the animations are really eh...
#2: It's simply a matter of opinion, but I don't like handheld games. So they'll really have to step their game up if I'm going to buy it.
#3: Your statement here is somewhat out of place, the fact that it's Zelda does not make it better than another Zelda. That would just start a terrible spider web of Zelda games where every one is better than the others and wouldn't make any sense.

No offense taken. My statements too are meant simply to debate, and not to argue. If you want to, then I'm looking forward to your reply.
