Now, onto level 4. Later on, anyway. Catacombs wore me out.
By the by, are there any other tiger scrolls in the game besides Spin Attack?

Oooooh... You got the Death Sword before Lv4! Impressive.
Anyhoo, no more Tiger Scrolls in the game unfortunately.
You don't expect players getting that sword before Level 4? I went into the catacombs shortly after getting the L2 gloves and 6th Triforce piece. I feel so awful because these many deaths... I also thought about stop playing LI by frustration... Trial and error... Deathbos... I don't have a shield and I don't remember how many bombs and potion I have. I think I missed only one HCP so far. I found the entrance of L4, saw the scene, but went back exploring. That's what this quest is for, not?
Now I go back to the catacombs and try to get that accursed sword in less than a hour...

I got an extra shield, found a bomb upgrade and so the catacomb boss wasn't so bermegaroxorz difficult, just XTREME hard. OK, maybe it wasn't hard with blue mail, L2 shield and 16 bombs, but when I needed to slash those red mounds, then I couldn't refrain from taking damage. The trial-and-error mazes were the most horrible. When the boss summoned mummys, I thought that they were deathbos, so I was like "GRRRR, I can't take more, help me mommy!". Lol.
Now with having the Death Sword, I feel myself (fighting and) free again. I explore some more and head to Level 4. It will probably be cupcake after the catacombs.
I also heard that there are some XTREME powerful items in the game in XTREME difficult side levels. I intend to find all. If I don't find them before Level 5, I will ask for subtle hints.

My next target item is the bomberang. No hints, yet. I've a feeling I might know where it is.

sasja, you need to kill the Lv4 boss to lower the spikes at the volcano cave. The Lv4 boss can be hard, but when those screens besides the boss start shooting you, you just have to be really fast and shoot the screens quickly. And it is wise to bring a full potion with you.
Yeah CastChaos, LI is about exploration.
Many people say the Catacombs boss is insane. I dont get it. IMO the Lv4 boss is the toughest one in the game.

However, I am so angry and frustrated right now I can't tell you how much.
I am an average gamer, I enjoy a good challenge and good puzzles, but I don't do well at all with the timed thingies. My fingers are what you might call not fast enough, or bluntly put, too slow.
I'm stuck in Level 3 in the room south of the first locked door. I've lost 4 hours of game play, died 10 times and I only managed two or three times to step on a total of 3 buttons. Now I know I'll never be able to complete this quest and I'm frustrated because you're penalizing players whose fingers are too slow. I don't mind never being able to get heart pieces in the timed mini-games, that I can do without, but there's nothing more I can explore without the ladder.
I needed to vent, sorry about that.
I had another account back in 2001 or 2002, but I forgot my username and password.

Still stuck on Level 2, by the way, but I really haven't tried much since my last post in this thread(busy with life. Always getting in the way! grr). I did, however, just discover the warp to the DARK side on the screen west of the entrance. I feel stupid that I didn't notice it much sooner -.-

The first maze, look to where the iron knuckle statue is and enter the doorway that is closest to that statue in every screen.
The second maze, look for the bloody footprints on the floor and follow them into the doorways they lead you to.
The third maze, look to the torches and where they are blowing. And head in the direction the WIND would be coming from.
Got it?

May, the timed puzzles are tough for everyone, but with a little practice they should be very beatable. I can even make a video of all the timed challenges of the quest if that would help you at all to see what would be the best way to beat them. Do not give up.
