My legit event Mew from my Japanese Emerald version didn't pass the Pokebank; however, that was the only one that gave me trouble.

 

It figures, Gamefreak did another crappy job with this. They should've just allowed for all hacked pokemon since some legit pokemon can't be transferred now. Not to mention loads of clearly hacked pokemon made it through already.

 

One of the people I've traded with has Eevees in Safari, Love and Moon Balls, all of which are technically illegal because Eevee is never in the Safari Zone, nor anywhere in Heart Gold or Soul Silver to catch in the Wild. I will say they are tempting to trade for, but don't know if I will since the whole illegality thing..

Wait, so you're calling the Pokebank crappy because you can't transfer a Mew from a very specific event? Isn't that going a little overboard? I mean, if I recall correctly, there were other event Mews to obtain, and just because that specific one is unobtainable, that automatically makes the Pokebank terrible? Gaming companies are going to make mistakes sometimes, and that specific Mew is one of them. Emerald came out like what? 10 or so year ago? Give Gamefreak a break. :/ And plus, isn't the existence of hacked Pokemon the very reason that they closed down the Pokebank temporarily in Japan? 

 

EDIT: As for the clearly hacked Pokemon you saw...eh, I got nothing. Though, it might be possible that they were hacked ones from before Japan closed the Pokebank down for about a month.

Pokemon Bank is supposed to be able to tell which pokemon are legal and which ones aren't. It's blocking a legal pokemon from making it and yet clearly hacked pokemon can still make it through. Isn't that a bit of a failure?

 

For the record I haven't downloaded it yet, it was in reference to thepsynergist's Mew. As for Mew, apart from the Emerald one which I never got, I only have a MYSTRY Mew from Toysrus. Mew is not easy to come by, especially outside of Japan. I have no idea if it can be transferred or not. If it can't, it's going to be a massive pain to get another Mew, even just for a Pokedex entry.

 

Along with Mew, there's loads of pokemon that are insanely difficult to get. Pokemon Events are pretty scarce near me, I've never once gotten a Celebi, Jirachi or a Deoxys. If I had one and couldn't transfer it for whatever reason, I wouldn't be happy.

 

I have no idea when they were transferred, they appeared today in a trading shop on a different forum. They could've been brought over today via Bank or traded from elsewhere. My bet is via Bank as I didn't see anyone offer them in the shop.

 

My bet is Bank only checks for legendaries and doesn't even check the pokemon that aren't. How else would people have stuff like Contrary Snivy when it was never released?

If I recall correctly, you get a free Celebi upon getting Pokebank, so Legendaries should pass up no problem. When you get the Pokemon Bank, can you tell me if your Mew will pass up through into the PokeBank, just so I can see if it was just the Pokemon Emerald Mew that was thought to be hacked.

 

For the clearly hacked Eevees, I have another theory: perhaps they only check if certain offsets are possible, but the Pokeball they were caught in isn't one of them, maybe. If that's the case, that'd explain why hacked Eevees can pass through Pokebank no problem....

 

Also, since you can't transfer hacked Pokemon, bye Hyperbeam Magirkarp. ;~;

Got from Wonder Trade today:

 

Level 47 Ho-oh that looks somewhat legit, but who knows. Likely cloned at least

Level 100 Magikarp in a Lure Ball with suspiciously 0 EVs.

Level 100 SHINY Palkia with 31IVs in every stat and caught in a PokeBall. EVs are maxed out.

Level 100 SHINY Japanese Ditto with 31IVs in every stat and with suspiciously 0 EVs.

 

I'm thinking it's safe to assume Pokemon Bank isn't keeping up with the hacked Pokemon. I'm 100% sure the Ditto and Palkia are hacked. Magikarp probably too, or someone is willing to go that far just to wonder trade a level 100 Magikarp away for whatever reason.

So does the Poke Bank actually stop hacked Pokemon from being brought into Pokemon X&Y I'm seeing stuff saying it does. But does it really?

If it does I don't think I want to use it... because all my Pokemon on my Pokemon Black I want to bring over are Pokemon that I caught using Action Replay.

Pokebank will stop illegal Pokemon from coming through. For example, if you hack a Magicarp to know Draco Meteor, the bank will tell you no. However, as long as the 'mon is legal, the game can't tell if it's legit or not. If you hack a Pokemon but it still follows the rules of what that Pokemon can or can't learn, where it was caught, etc, it'll be able to come through just fine.

So, I got myself a Zubat (because when it's a Crobat, it's a beast) and I made an amazing mistake of taking on somebody in a Sky Battle... I had no idea only Flying Types were allowed... (and I know... it's a SKY Battle, should've read that more carefully)

 

Let's just say my Zubat fainted in less than 20 seconds.

I've been thinking about doing a living dex as well. I'm just not sure about how to get all the legendary event Pokemon. ._. But I'll do what I can before I need them though. XD

So, I have all of Gen 1-4 complete on my living dex.  Just working on 5 and some stragglers from 6 and I should be done.

 

BTW, they're all battle ready (the fully evolved ones), EV trained and with 3-5IV's.

Had a hilarious battle on random wifi where my Gliscor walled a Suicune and my opponent just caved after turn 6.
