If the entire world goes to F*** and the bad guy wins? Sure, creepy as s***, and always strips us from any sense of reward for beating both games. But don't throw a "to be continued" at us and give us no clear explanation where the F*** we should continue.
That's my only complaint about these two games. I appreciated the bad ending, I liked it, it gave me one powerful message "don't F*** with time, you won't win" that would have simply created a pure brilliance that should have been stuck to. But of course that black screen appears with those three famous words.
Those words work for a movie or a tv show, not a final fantasy game.

they try so hard to save everything to have it all go to sh*t, and the darkness takes over. and then Serah dies!? why... I didn't what it to happen like that. that was pretty much b*tch-slap to the player's face... Really I think it is.
And still playing Tales of Vesperia, I have to say I'm loving this game! <3

I'm just pissed try had to slap a "too be continued" in the end.

As for XIII-2, the part where Serah dies was completely random. I don't know what Square was thinking at that point. I compare XIII-2 ended to how Modern Warfare 2 ended. Too many unanswered questions to be continued in a sequel.

Anyways, I just re-started playing Sonic Classic, a really neat fangame that feels just like the original Genesis games, and each Act gets 8 missions to try and complete to unlock extras, such as playing as Tails and Knuckles. Of the top of my head, the missions for each level are...
1: Complete the level with 200 Rings or more
2: Find 8 hidden Silver Rings hidden in the level before finishing
3: Play through a mirrored version of the level
4: Defeat every enemy in the level
5: Beat the level with all Rings removed and powerups replaced with Eggman boxes.
6: Start as Super Sonic, run out of Rings and you die
7: Find and defeat a miniboss hidden somewhere in the level
8: Finish the level in a very short, pre-set amount of time
Anyways, I'm re-playing this because it recently got updated with something that's supposed to make it run faster or something, and I had never gotten around to finishing all the missions, and have never actually beaten the final boss. (There's only one ring in that level, and it's hidden out of sight. I haven't been able to find it, and so have been trying to beat the final boss ring-less)
Has anybody else played this yet? You can find it on Sonic Retro, and it's a lot of fun.

Well still playing Tales of Vesperia. Just grinding and trying to finish some side quest.

Once you beat the game, the Giganto Monsters are a walk in the park.

Hm... they do? I guess I'll have to wait awhile then. I thought I was nearing the end of the game (I'm now at Zaude)
But it seems in the walk-though I'm reading there is more to do after xD.
