I can definitely tell the Master Dome's much harder this time around. I'm roughly 75% of the way, but nothing in the old Master Dome in HD came close to the difficulty of 4 super darknuts, 4 mirror wizzies, a bubble and an item bubble in a single room. icon_dead.gif

EDIT: Holy crap that wasn't supposed to happen! I killed 3 super darknuts and all the blue ones each created, then ran and rested my fingers a bit. Apparently the created blue darknuts fooled the engine. I returned to the room and only the bubbles remained... icon_omg.gif

EDIT2: Here we are, boss of the Master Dome, a Patra 3 with the same bug that the Patra 2 had. I BARELY beat the Patra 3 in HD, and this was without having to deal with this bug. I'll tell you in a few tries if I think I can do it or not, if I can't I'll just ask for like a level 1 cheat or something. (don't worry, I'll only use it if I've killed all the other parts except for the bugged one) icon_shrug.gif

EDIT3: It turns out Patra 3 has the bug much worse: the bugged minion is so far down that you cannot kill it. I'm going to try replacing the player with 183 and hope the save file is still compatible, if that doesn't work... I don't know what to do.

EDIT4: Worked perfectly, and a winner is me! And my reward was... what the heck? THAT was my reward?

Make sure you downloaded the update elise. Also, Level 7 had some awesome level design, didn't it?

Also, I did figure out what that crappy reward from the Master Dome was used for, so now I DO have the Magic Key. Level 9 is all that remains.

You mean magic bar upgrades, or just refils?

Yes, you CAN kill that patra kid.. When only that 1 kid remains, stand close to the parent patra, and it should come out of hiding.

In another quest, I used the magic sword's beam to take care of this wandering kid.. Perhaps you should try this method as well, providing Wolfy gave us a sword beam...

The glitched Patra kid moves when you do, 'cause its position is based partly on your x-coordinate. It still moves up and down with the center Patra, but the closer you are to the right edge of the screen, the better chance you have of reaching it.

Go to Desert Island. Blue leevers drop them often.

Anyways... currently in Level 9. I'm in a room with one of the keys (you know what I mean DFW icon_cool.gif ) and it looks like I have to hookshot over to the otherside to get to it. I have been able to hookshot torches. In this case, the torch on the otherside isn't hookshottable (what a word...). Do I have to get to the warp from the other side with a bomb or something?

If all else fails, I have the Magic Key anyways. icon_kawaii.gif

EDIT: Got that key.

By the way, the mirrorobes at the top right (I'm guessing that's where the boss key is) can't be killed with their own magic if it's reflected by mirrors. It has to be reflected by prisms or the mirror shield. So, I'll say this to everyone, you need the mirror shield to complete this quest.

The white sword is located in a bombable cave entrance on Waterfall Island.

Um... No. icon_razz.gif

As elise said, the white sword is here.

Use the whistle on that triforce mark and a ladder will drop from that cave. Enter it to get the sword. (Need 5 hearts)

yes, technically speaking, you need all extra dungeon items to complete the quest. The only dungeon that is TRULY optional is Master Dome. The red mail dungeon (level c) is strongly recommended, because level 9 is almost too hard without it.
and level 7, awesome level design? o_O uh.......okay. Weird, but okay. icon_confused.gif
As for Elise's problem, please be sure you are playing in beta 183, I even stated it in the Quest's description on PureZC. The continue bug is still present, but its not as random as it appears to be in later betas.
As for buying magic jar refills, sadly, only the shop on Death Island has that dubious honor. And the Zora Cavern has them selling for cheap if you managed to get a specific item from somewhere. icon_wink.gif

And Happyman, clever use of the master dome and its final prize, eh?

EDIT: Furthermore, to address the complaint about a 320 rupee magic shield. There is a reason for such a high price. First off, to increase difficulty, duh. But to help promote unlinearity in the quest, its up to the player if they want a cheap shield or not. If you go at the dungeons in order, you'll encounter a cheaper magic shield quite late in the game, but if you choose to skip to level 5, get the flippers and head for Death Island or Volcano Island, brave the dangers there to get to those shops, you can buy the magic shield for cheaper. Its all a matter of WHEN you want to do it. If that doesn't interest you, you can acquire the red lantern, wand, and hookshot from levels 2, 3 and 5 and complete level b right off the bat (tough, but doable) to get the mirror shield before beating any dungeons, thus eliminating any magic shield buying permenantly. Its all a matter of WHEN you want to do it or if you are simply going to give in and shell out 320 rupees and be ripped off. That was my reasoning behind such high prices. Satisfied?

Indeed, getting all of those rupees took a VERY long time...

The Master Dome's system was pretty sweet and it was much harder than the last one. The reward made things a lot handier and cheaper.

Level 9... well, the music was extremely fitting. The guy after the triforce room said absolutely nothing. I took a lucky guess that he needed the bait, and was correct. The way you got the keys was pretty nifty, having to fight all the bosses from each level again for 8 keys. Boss Key was hard as heck to get because I really hate Mirrorobes. The whole level reminded me of Level 6, enormous amounts of bombable/walkthrough walls and a lot of difficult enemies. But I made it through of course. icon_razz.gif

One more gripe I have that I didn't mention in my site comment: SD3 and SOM do have good music... but I don't think you need to use just that music for the entire quest, do you? It was rare to find a non-SD3/SOM track in the game.

Then again, some tunes were well placed, Death Island's and Level 9's were good fits.

Anyways, DFW, check your PMs.

well, I was establishing a type of mood and for the most part, I used Secret of Mana series songs, because I didn't to break up the mood I was setting. The small diddy when traveling the big ocean sounded to me like a transition piece, which is exactly what you are doing in the game, simply transition from one major island to another, so it fits. Death island is grave and dark. Level 9's music is high-paced and repetative, giving you a sense of anxiousness and unease as you're nearing the end of your quest.
However, I had to have a few staple Zelda songs in there like the Triforce theme, fairy theme and Ganon's theme. icon_wink.gif

This is probably going to be the stupidest question in this thread...

Can you give me a hint as to where I could go to find a raft path reaching Forest Island? I only managed to get a small glimpse of it on my way to Waterfall Island... and I can't seem to find any other way to get to it. icon_sweat.gif

It is pretty tricky to find now that Wolfy took her raft path image down..

Well, on the upside, I remember how to get there. icon_smile.gif

First, get to Desert Island from Town Island (via the west most dock from town island & from the mini island in the big ocean).

When you land on Desert Island, head east to a shop and buy a super bomb, which costs 50 rupees.

From there, head back to where you landed, and follow the shoreline north west, taking the first northern dock you see.

As you sail, take both southern raft branches. (You'll know them when you see them.)

Keep sailing around, and you'll be at Forest Island in no time. Feel free to explore the mini islands as you sail... You might find some interesting stuff there.
