I don't tell nothing to who smoke where is allowed, but i cannnot stand those who light up a cigarette immediately got off the train , they look like junkies.. is so hard wait to get out of the station ( where , among other things , smoking is prohibited ) ? they make stink all the underpass and pollute the lungs and even those who do not smoke.
I don't know if 'junkies' is the right word for it, but they're certainly addicted. I'm with you though, it's a bit... well, it's a worrying trend, I guess you could say. They're in a rush for work, but also for cancer. I've been a heavy smoker myself so I've been there, but I still think it's strange that society in general is as accepting towards these utterly self destructive acts as it is. That said, what bugs me more is how a lot of people are completely unwilling to see coffee as a drug, and to top it off it is more addictive than most illegal 'narcotics', and to your 'smokers off the train', I would like to add that getting up and drinking your morning coffee is literally the exact same thing as 'needing' a cigarette when you get off the train. An addiction is an addiction, I guess.
That said, the fact that people do drink coffee is not what bothers me, it's rather the lack of recognition that coffee is a drug that on many factors rank above things like LSD, MDMA and even cigarettes, when it comes to things like addiction rates and how it alters your perception. And coffee is actually lethal in high doses, something a lot of those illegal and 'dangerous' drugs actually are not, despite years of propaganda telling us otherwise.
Side note: I am not an expert in anything, and I will admit I did not fact check anything I just said. I have however read about it before and I'm fairly sure I'm mostly correct, at least on the parts when it comes to addiction. All I really wanted to say though, is that it bothers me that people seem to be unwilling to admit this about coffee, just because we're so used to it. Just remember, we used to be that way about cigarettes too.
Side note 2: I am not saying you will die from drinking coffee. It's technically possible, but unless you specifically try to overdose I doubt it's going to happen. I also doubt that drinking it would be the most effective method of taking in that large amounts of caffeine anyway.
