The fact that it took everything it made Zelda so great and throw it from the window? (let's be honest, Zelda games started doing it aa early as ALttP, but it has become worse and worse). The fact it abuses fanservice in a very negative tone (unlike Smash whose mere existence comes from fanservice and it does it in a very lighthearted, fun way)? The fact it abuses DLC? The fact it relies on cool, action moments that are basically alien to Zelda? The fact its gameplay is a mere button masher, unlike early Zelda games were positioning and timing was still relevant? The fact it's just a Warriors gane but with a Zelda skin? The fact the female villain, who is in danger to have a sudden wardrove malfunction at any moment, is not even allowed to have an honest lust for power?

And no, don't say it's a mere spinoff. Hyrule Warriors, as a game, has no good reason to exist. It was made because they could made it. Nothing like early Zelda, or classic and modern Mario, where there's some incentive and creativeness and sincere intentions behind.

And while it's too early to speak about Metroid Soccer's quality as a game, again, I repeat, Youtube people are hating it with burning passion. And you cannot acuse Youtubers from being alternative gamers who are critical to modern Nintendo's practises. Yet they (and many communities) are very vocal against Metroid Soccer. Somethink to think about.

It's not supposed to play anything like a Zelda game.  It's supposed to play like a Dynasty Warriors game.  If you're judging it as a Zelda game, throw that idea out the window and play it again.  I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "it abuses fanservice in a very negative tone", as I wasn't aware that fanservice could be positive or negative.  Also, it's existence DOES come from fanservice, so the Smash Bros comparison doesn't really work.  I'm also not entirely certain you even played the game at all, since a significant portion of Cia's character development is that she wants to obtain the triforce (and thus, does have a lust for power).  The reason this game exists is to give fans of the Dynasty Warriors franchise a taste of Zelda, and vice versa.

Also, you seem to have missed my point about "Metroid Soccer", as you keep calling it; The people criticizing it know basically nothing about it other than that it exists.  They haven't played it, and they certainly didn't develop it, so them saying that it's terrible is about as informed of a statement as me saying that it's the greatest game to grace mankind with it's presence.

Sony obviously dominated this one.

I have to be honest.  I'm glad FF7 is getting the HD remake, because now people can shut up about it not having one.  But FF7 itself was pretty boring.  Nothing interesting happens until about halfway through, the Materia grinding is obnoxious, and it's the game that split the fanbase for no real reason other than being the first 3D game or their particular first game in the series, just like Ocarina of Time.  I'd rather have an HD 2D remake of FF6.

Kingdom Hearts 3.  It's about time we got more gameplay.  The colors are nice and vibrant.  There really wasn't too much more to say though.  They ended up defaulting back to Sora riding the coaster with terrible camera angles again.

The Theatrum style games....I have to be honest with this one too.  I dislike that specific chibi art style.  Looks cheap and lazy, and the red mouths make it look like everyone wears lipstick.

Nintendo brought out a bunch of really huge things last year, including, uh, a new franchise.  I can understand finding the conference underwhelming (I certainly did), but was this really such a shocking development?  Slow years happen, especially on the heels of really busy years.

Well to be fair, if Nintendo did not have those directs prior to E3, then they probably would have one hell of a digital event. It's like they announced the good stuff first, but gave us all the leftovers at E3.

I'm very excited for Star Fox Zero, and I've never been excited of a Star Fox game before! The only one I've played is Adventures, which I still love a lot.

However, I noticed SFZ is getting a lot of hate....why?

Well, I just heard that Star Fox Zero will not have online multiplayer (though they're not ruling it out completely. But as of now, it will not have online multiplayer).

Anyone been to Nintendo's Youtube page? The trailer videos of a few of the games that were shown during the Digital Event have more dislikes than likes (Metroid Prime: Federation Squad and Animal Crossing Amiibo Party are getting the worst of it. Federation Squad has almost 18,000 dislikes to almost 1,800 likes.

The only 3 games during the event that I'm looking forward to are Fire Emblem Fates (although I'm hearing that the game is being sold in 2 different versions like Pokemon, with each campaign having it's own version), Hyrule Warriors 3DS, and the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi crossover. Unfortunately, none of those games come out before 2016 (It's going to be a long wait).

Bethesda won. FALLOUT FOURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

The reworking of Doom into essentially Unreal Tournament with demons was pretty cool, although the demo showed a lot of bullet-soaking enemies that gave no indication that they were taking damage until they were dead.

I wasn't into Dishonored, but its sequel looks genuinely intriguing.

(Fallout Shelter is pretty cool too but the new Bethesda storefront/social network was the low point)

I don't own any current-gen consoles, being a card-carrying member of the PC gaming master race. I think the most recent console that I own (that does not technically belong to a family member) is a GBA SP. I have no desire to return to consoles. I'll relive the past and fire up an old one once in a while, or emulate one, but for me personally, console gaming is dead.

I did watch some of the other conferences and I was just kind of sad. Sony's seemed the most braggy, Nintendo's was depressing, EA's was SPUUOOOORRRRTSSSS, and Ubisoft was only marginally better than EA.

I watched the Digital Event with Scootaloo this morning; it's become sort of a tradition for us to watch it together, just the two of us. The show was short on surprises -- which is sad, because for all intents and purposes that's what these things are for (or at least certainly what is expected and what they are ultimately judged on) -- but the games themselves look fantastic, the puppet segments were cute, and my girlfriend and I had a great time. It was a slow year, which isn't unexpected given that it's sandwiched between the previous two years' impressive showings full of new games and the gearing-up to NX next year. If I'm doing a comparison, Nintendo's show contained easily the highest number of things-I-want-to-own-and-play... but again, while thoroughly lacking on those I-can't-believe-this-is-real surprises of Sony's show. And what I'm doing here is judging E3 presentations, not purely game line-ups, and Sony's is the one wowed me consistently.

The reception to Federation Forces, though. Yeesh. I mean, it's always totally okay to be disappointed, but the (embarrassing) ways in which that disappointment has been expressed in various places online... Yeesh. It's being developed by Next Level Games, whose track record in terms of Nintendo collaborations is impeccable, so I'm very much looking forward to it based on that. At least, given the track record of previous Nintendo game announcements that were initially met with rage and vitriol (recent examples being the endlessly joyful multiplayer of Nintendo Land, the utterly inspired Super Mario 3D World and the platforming masterpiece that is Tropical Freeze), it's possible to take solace in just how good of company this game sits.

Related to NX... am I the only one who, based on their choice of words "game platform," thinks it's not a console at all, but a service? They keep talking about unifying their consoles and the new mobile outreach, so I'm starting to think NX is just a service to accomplish that. I guess we'll find out when it reaches us.

(Note that a lot of this is in response to specific hate and stuff I have seen elsewhere.  I'll admit I simply haven't had time yet to read through all of the comments here. :( )

Just watched the Nintendo event.  And boy, it sure was something.  Nintendo sure has gotten a lot of flak this year. :(

Granted, I think a lot of that is the fault of fans.  Like usual, people seemed to get their hopes up for a lot of specific titles.  Honestly, looking around, it's like people expected Nintendo to release Metroid Prime, Zelda U, Zelda 3DS, Animal Crossing, Star Fox, F-Zero, and Super Mario Galaxy games all in the next year and a half.  Come on, people. That's absolutely freaking absurd, and if you start putting those expectations on Nintendo, then you're going to get bit in the ass. It's definitely a shame we didn't get that many surprises here, but I think people are just throwing way too much hate Nintendo's way here.  Everyone needs to just step back and look at the games for... well... their gameplay.  I think a lot of them look fun even if they weren't my expectations.

... That being said, I do feel that Nintendo did goof in the overall presentation.  There are a lot of games that were mysteriously either absent or glossed over.  X's trailer this year was really short, generic and made it just seem like a random space and running game - last year's trailer was much more impressive.  They didn't mention Fatal Frame or Devil's Third at all, which I believe both come out this year and could be very vital games for trying to expand the audience of the Wii U.  The could have tried to hype Splatoon more by showing off more about the new game modes coming out to try and keep the game relevant.  They didn't even mention one single indie game whereas they spent a good 10 minutes on them last year.  Nintendo has so much content to show off.  They... just... didn't.

What's crazy is they have no reason not to have more gameplay stuff in the event.  It's a digital event, so they could have made it longer.  It's not like they had to pay for a big conference area for it like the other companies.  Or, they could have focused more on just gameplay footage and announcements.  Don't get me wrong, I loved a lot of the silly moments in the digital event, and I really loved the bits where you got to see the design mentalities of the Star Fox and Mario games.  But, was the Nintendo E3 Digital Event, the premier event to showcase what you're going to be releasing over the next year for both fans and investors alike to see the event to spend 5-10 minutes on?  I'm really happy to have learned about it, but I feel that maybe a Treehouse or something like that would have been a more appropriate place for it.

So, I'm not really upset over the games that were announced or anything.  I just felt that Nintendo could have had a much stronger video.

Not sure what everyone expected of Nintendo's presentation, they've said years ago that E3 isn't their priority and to that end they've made a huge effort to release details of things throughout the year, hence why barely anything new was shown this time around that interested anyone over 7 years of age. Everything we've wanted, was revealed months ago.

Everyone needs to ditch the preconceived notion that E3 is the only time gaming news happens. For the last 2 or 3 years Nintendo has been the most outspoken about upcoming games than any of the other companies and most of it was NOT shared during any E3 presentations.

While what you say is true, the problem is that some people sadly don't have that kind of mindset. To some, people see E3 as a more powerful opportunity to impress everyone with what each company has to offer. More powerful than announcing that news beforehand. Since Nintendo pretty much gave us all the "leftovers" of announcements, it hurts them in the long run because now certain individuals (who are only intrigued by mass announcements like E3) will perceive them as a company that has no games even though they already announced them all. Think of it as like hockey. You are at your best during the normal season and then you completely bombed it during the Stanley Cup.

The new Mario & Luigi/Paper Mario crossover looks really interesting! (It also more or less confirms my theory that the Mario from Paper Mario and the Mario from Mario & Luigi are two different characters.)

I just hope there are NO giant battles in this one like the last two games. If there are, I'm skipping this.

LinkTheMaster, it's really hard to blame the fans. They want games! That's why we buy consoles, for games! Lol Nintendo is trying to survive and push out games for a console that nobody else wants to make games for anymore. The console is a wasteland.

Was the lame Fallout pun intended?

Yes...

Yes it was.

Fallout 4 wins E3!
