Can't you override it? There's nothing wrong with it, Chrome's just being stupid.

No, it wont show up in my downloads, and when I hit dismiss on the little warning box it just disappears from the bottom bar.

If you click "Show all downloads..." before dismissing the warning, it should be listed with an option to "Recover malicious file." If that doesn't show up for some reason, before dismissing the warning, you should also be able to find it in the download directory with a name like "Unconfirmed download.48283." Rename that to a .zip file, and it should work fine. If all else fails, you can temporarily uncheck "Enable phishing and malware protection" in advanced settings.

Another updated build. Any improvement in performance here?

There was some apparently pointless blitting going on when drawing messages and wavy screens. I'm pretty sure removing it won't have broken anything, but watch for any new problems there, just in case.

Supposedly, Android devices run off a form of Linux. Would it be difficult, or even plausible for that matter, to make an Android version of ZQuest? For one thing, it would be nice to have a way to work on my quest sooner, and for another, it would be pretty neat to 'fingerpaint' my screens with the touchscreen of a tablet.

While it's true that Android devices run off Linux, apps are basically ran via Java.  So, it's not plausible for ZC to get ported over (easily), sadly.

Well, there is the JNI (Java Native Interface) and Android NDK (Native Development Kit) that let you wrap a C library in Java. That being said, it might be easier to re-code ZC from scratch in Java than it would be to wrestle with those (I know from experience).

I don't believe it said this in the change log, but ZC 2.5 RC3 uses F9 and F10 to restart and close Zelda Classic, not F7 and F8, like before.

It does. Check below build 1628.  That change was part of RC2.

Can I ask something? On my mom's computer, I can get ZC to run just fine when it's being run from the computer itself. When I try to run it off of a flash drive, it won't start at all. The audio will kick in, but I can't get past the initial "Armageddon Games" screen. Is there a reason for this? I'd love to be able to continue working on my quest, but I don't want to put my own programs on a computer that's not mine. I'd much rather be able to use a flash drive until I can use a computer of my own.

How long have you waited for it? I'm seeing it take more than thirty seconds for the title screen to load up. Saving is pretty slow, too. I don't know what the problem is; something to do with Allegro's packfile handling, I'd guess. If you enable "Skip Logo" in the launcher, that should help. I'm afraid don't know what else to do.

I found that turning on the "Skip Logo" option like you recommended helps enough to actually get the program to turn on. It's still very slow, too much so to easily get any work done making anything, but it runs just fine once I start a game to play it. Thank you for the help.

A general question. Does RC3 work well with Windows 8? I'm getting a new laptop, and of course I still want to use ZC. :)

I just played it on someone's copy of Win8, and it ran fine, I guess. No qualms here.

No catastrophic bug reports after four weeks. Is it about time to call this thing done, or is there something major I've overlooked? There are a few small issues I still want to fix, but I'm not aware of any remaining serious problems.
