I know what you mean, he was really an awesome person, wouldn't mind going out of his way to help someone.

He was a friend to all.

This comes as a shock to me. I remember talking to him on IRC a few months ago where he was talking about riding a bike. He sounded like such an active person. RIP

Thank you Wild Bill. Without you I wouldn't have found this website which helped me through so much. May you rest in peace.

I just saw this thread, after I saw the post on the main site.

I didn't really know him, but I've known of him and have seen him post here a couple of times.

Rather than use words, I thought I'd share my feelings with music. Here's to you, William, and to the day when we all will meet him again.

I didn't have much direct contact with Will while he was here, but from little I did he seemed like like an entirely level headed, humorous, and kind individual. I don't share the belief that this is site is his legacy, that's something more deserving to those closest to him, but it is a legacy, and it's nice to see such nice words written by friends and strangers alike. It's always tragic when someones life is cut short. It extinguishes the amazing spontaneous potential a person has far to early.

Thanks for the site, and more importantly, the company it provides. Rest in peace Will.

I was just passing by this site of my teenage years to find this exceptionally sad news.  My deepest condolences to Wild Bill's family, friends and everyone who knew him on the site.  This community really helped me through my teenage years, and my pushed me to be the person I am today.  I am grateful for all Wild Bill has done, and the fact that he was snuffed out so soon in life is nothing short of a tragedy.  Rest in piece Bill, and as always, eat cheese forever.  You will be greatly missed.

I was watching, waiting, hoping for this to be a hoax, but it looks like this is for real. I used to chat with Wild Bill even before he made PureZC. He was always good spirited and friendly. Rest in peace, man.

Oh my lord, I can't believe this. I noticed I hadn't seen any comments from him on Facebook for a while, so I checked his page only to see this news. I really, don't know what to say, or feel right now. Maybe it just hasn't sank in yet..

I want to know what happened to him, but knowing that doesn't change the fact that the wold lost a great person. I will miss him tremendously.. even if I did want to deck him sometimes.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Wild Bill was one of the first people I got to know in any online setting. We were both probably 14 or 15 at the time, and I was very nervous about talking to strangers online. Wild Bill was very friendly and easy to talk with, though, and I soon considered him a good friend. He was able to create and expand this website and community into something very special. Even as his interests shifted, nobody can deny that he still cared a great deal for the continued happiness of the community. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

Sorry it has taken so long, but we now have posted that story of Wild Bill for anyone interested.  This is just a first cut; we will add more pictures as we get time, and there is a place for visitors to comment.

Suggested sound track:  https://www.youtube....h?v=STd_ReduHMw

In his exploration of music, most of which I dubbed "bad rock'n roll" occasionally William would share some tracks with me.  And so it was, this was I believe the first cut I heard of Evanescence: Understanding. Yes, I did and do enjoy it.

The obituary is here:

Thanks again for so many kind words from users here.  Be well!  ... Shadow

The memorial was created by me and is dedicated to Wild Bill, the creator of PureZC. The shapes are of the dungeons in his Zelda Classic quest "Fall uh de Honky Pig."
