I'm pretty sure the end will be long before that, and if it's not, then in 5 billion years humans will most certainly off the earth by then.

But it's almost impossible to get out of the solar system. It will take an entire life time to get to the edge.

I guarantee you humans will have better space travel in five billion years, and if we don't, you're right. We're screwed.

People in 5 Billion years might have to build a super spaceship which can take 5 minutes to get out of the solar system then find other stars with planets orbiting them. Mabye.

However, if people can't build it, then the human race will disappear.

2006 we were meant to die 2012 we might die. Well I think 6 reasons:
  • The Sun will blow up and it will make a 'BIG' explosive and cook everything.
  • The next is that the earth stops moving.
  • The next might be another race (alien) comes and kills us.
  • The next is that we all blank out for no reason.
  • The next could be the plants dying and theirs no air.
  • The next is a good old World War 3 and we all suddenly die.
Don't forget Area 51 might have the super space ship.

EDIT: This is general ENTERTAINMENT watching ourselves die is very interesting icon_razz.gif

I am really not sure what to make of this thread. So far it consists of people making wild guesses* about ridiculously improbable (or impossible) scenarios, from where any of you are getting these, I have no idea.

*Note that a guess is very much different from a theory, the latter having to be backed up by real evidence

Well, it's more like an unproven theory vs. a proven theory. A theory is an idea that can go through the process of being proven, regardless of whether it reaches a conclusion or not, be that proven or contradicted. But you are right about them being guesses, which you could say can be theories that are neither proven nor disproven, assuming you are talking about a belief, rather than let's say a test question.

The lines I marked in bold is true. Except the world war 3 won't kill everyone. Only the survivors will survive.
Also the Sun (Sol) will blow up in 5 billion years. That will be in the year 5,000,002,010

World War 3: What I was thinking is a huge nuke bomb true some might survive but at least 9/10 of people will die.
Sun Explosion: We shouldn't estimate the time it could blow up. What if it happens tomorrow what if today? All I can say is that we might die during 2012-2013.

The only thing we can look at is the stone calendar some people made back in time:

Trust me they estimated a flu during 2009 did they get it right? Yes!
The calender ends during 2012 I not saying holy **** we gonna die its just a calender!
The good side however is that they might have had no room or the other calender is somewhere else or destroyed and got buried.

The sun can't blow up tommorow or today. A lot of people know the sun has a 10 billion year life cycle. We know it's already half of it's cycle because of the size. Like I said earlier, the sun will blow somewhere around the year 5,000,002,010.

My theory: Nothing happens in 2012, we live on, and destroy the planet slowly. Earth rots, and then Earth becomes another lifeless rock among the solar system. Then another advanced society finds our remains, and flips us off for being stupid parasites.

Alestance's theory might work. He's got a point as the Earth rots. We're destroying our enviorment!

But what will happen if someone wanted to conquer the Earth, if there's no Earth? I mean, if the Earth rots and we will be a meteor or something, we will all die right?

We gotta build these super spaceships! The Earth is disappearing quickly!

Probably the most realistic explanation.

I can agree with that.
