Misread. Either way, if you look at it like this:

There were 107 Pokemon in generation IV.
There were 128 Pokemon in generation III.
There were 100 Pokemon in generation II.
There were 151 Pokemon in generation I.

It could go either way, but I'm betting it won't be over 100 (or just barely over 100. Like maybe 102.)

I do find myself kissing the screen when my Charizard attacks, even when confused though... does that mean I love it? icon_razz.gif

I do that too xD I always say "that's my baby" or "good job babe" when they have a really good battle. icon_smile.gif yea...i love my pokemon. I guess they grow on you... even though they are a bunch of pixels and data.

Right, that clears things up. Wait, seriously, Gen 4 only had 107 new pokemon? Oh. icon_unsettled.gif Well, notice one thing:
  1. 150
  2. 100
  3. 128
  4. 107
The odd numbered ones (1, 3) had over 100 while the even numbereds (2, 4) have barely over 100 if over 100. Therefore, 5 is most likely to have over 100, meaning over 600. Checkmate. icon_razz.gif

However, you'll notice that the numbers of the odd generation are declining. 151 to 128? There will most likely be another drop in the next gen :O

Checkmate overruled.

That's kind of a silly thing to base the number on, anyway. Might as well get into complex mathematical equations to figure it out.

Did you guys see the new pics of Black and White from Serebii.com? They're taking 3D to the extreme if you ask me.

Ya, if only the battles were 3D too. Even so, the pictures still look awesome. I am curious as to why they showed the girl in all the pictures instead of the boy. Maybe the graphics for him aren't done yet or something. So, think we'll actually get a decent plot this time, or yet another Team Whatever trying to take over the world?

Well, the Director of the games (Shigeki Morimoto) promised us that the 5th generation wouldn't feel like a traditional Pokemon game at all. That we would play it and ask ourselves " Is this really Pokemon".

I'm hoping that means it's more story based. Something like XD. That was a good Pokemon game that broke from the standard formula.

Again, unlikely I'll ever play the games, but that would scare me. Repetitive or not, the formula works, so I wouldn't know what to feel about that.

It reminds me of when either Eiji Aonuma/Shigeru Miyamoto said something about Twilight Princess being the last Zelda game as we knew it in its current form... Which also scares me. icon_eek.gif

This proves nothing! They aren't creating an exact amount every time that's been pre-determined. They just pop out 100 so and if they have more they probably throw them in as well. There is no equation, because the number of pokemon introduced each game is not based on anything beyond what they need, and the only rule we could apply is that the designers are under pressure to make a decent amount of new critters; and it's hard to argue they didn't try their darnedest when they invent 100.

Maybe it'll go over 600, maybe not. Doesn't really matter, because regardless it'll be close.

I would completely ok with them doing something seperate from the standard Pokemon games... I mean come on people, we've been playing remakes of the same game since 96. We can afford the little bit of discomfort from trying something new.

They've got the Pokemon Ranger games (or whatever) out there if you wanted something different. I haven't played them myself, so I don't know how different they are, though... I'd just like to see more sidequests in games, minus the whole 'save the world' ordeal that was mentioned earlier in this topic (by Lemon, I believe.) I don't need to save the world to have fun in a game; I just wanna play and explore and raise some pokemans.

True, it works. But after four games, it's getting kind of old. What if I don't want to become the champion? What if I want to have a dad who actually appears in the story. What if I want to actually have character development rather than be a lifeless character who's always being told what to do by others? A break from the monotony wouldn't hurt.

Eh, I'll agree on that.
