Vote for Sir_Johnamus.
(I am not going to say the typical thing, such as I will fix everything, because that is implied.)

Ah yet another sprite avatar. Your avatar is powerful in all its pixely goodness. But mine is animated. Folks, we can see clearly that Sir_Johnamus does not care about anything of the American people because he doesn't go the extra mile ... such as animating such a classic sprite as he has represented.

My fellow Americans. Please hear my plea, vote for octorok and you will get your cake. AND EAT IT TOO!!!!!!! YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!!!!

OCTOROK 2008!!! WHITE HOUSE HERE WE COME!!!!

By voting for octorok, we put the country in the hands of a creature that has oppoesd gamers since the dawn of Zelda. Do you want that? Do you want a true leader, or someone who uses Photoshop to replace iconic world leaders with a pixelized version of himself?
Vote Alestance. In Alestance there is a true leader, who will fix problems at home and around the globe.
VOTE ALESTANCE AND CHANGE WILL COME!

No worries...as long as you get one in by the end of october, you may or may not stand out from a few candidates (who, if they do not provide a speech, will be disqualified sheerly for lack of participation (I doubt anyone who cannot provide a speech could get any votes anyway)).

Serious, though. This is supposed to be an easygoing thing. Show up, say some stuff, get people to vote for you.

I actually did it both ways and it didn't do anything. The actual code represented when I try to do a sample link doesn't use quotations, so I assumed your version was wrong. But apparently they're both wrong. Sooo... ?

Mine can't be wrong because it worked for fuzzyman.

I'll do some testing in my own signature.

Actually, I had to tinker with it a little before it started to work. I'll edit this post in a minute to show you how I have mine set up:

Alright. Here it is:
