Oh don't get me wrong, it's kind of silly, but I do also empathize with those who have to make that decision a little bit, especially with what we know of the lore of Zelda.

Maybe they couldn't kill Ganon and instead sealed him? Because if they could kill him i think they would have done it.

They killed him in Z1 and ALttP. I understand why they didn't in OoT as it was a prequel, but somehow it became a trend that stuck with the series.

Was it really a trend? He was sealed in OoT, in the backstory of TP (I believe this was the child timeline's post-OoT events), at the end of Four Swords Adventures... but also fully destroyed in the Oracles' linked game (after an attempted revival of his ALttP self) and at the end of A Link Between Worlds. Granted, he was sealed again sometime between ALttP/Oracles and ALBW... That or they retconned ALttP, which I hope not.

Wait, i'm confused. Are we talking about the sages or whatever sealing Ganon or Link killing Ganon? Link does kill Ganon in Z1, but in ALTTP he was sealed by the sages and eventually killed by Link.
And we don't even know how strong this Ganon is. It could be far more powerful than the previous incarnations, hence why they could only seal him instead of killing him.

As far as we know (and I believe it's still confirmed), ALttP's Ganon was sealed shortly after the events of OoT on its timeline.

Believe me, I've wanted to for a while now, I just know from experience that me and ZQuest are better off in a long-distance relationship. ![]()

Going back to that glimpse of Ganon inside the barrier, makes me wonder if he'll be doing that the entire time as a constant reminder of the danger that awaits. Honestly in a way kind of reminds me of Bowser flying around Bowser's Valley's world map in Super Mario World, only on a more extreme scale.

I was so excited for Breathe of Fire however the NX scares me, I severely dislike the idea of buying a console behind in technology compared to a standard XBOXONE cuz
"Nintendo has never been about whats under the hood, we focus on content"
Id hate to purchase an NX primarily for this game (which might end up a cartridge)
Its a Zelda thread I know but, hey, I hope I can play some things elsehow like Fire Emblem, a new Paper Mario, Mario Sunshin 2?
but anyhow
Boy does this new Zelda look good. I imagine out of those 70+ shrines to visit, some are almost identical to Original Zelda dungeons, now in full 3D!

I SWEAR TO NAYRU, THE NX BETTER HAVE A NORMAL CONTROLER cuz I wanna control Link naturally, instead of doing some stupid ass motions and all that jazz
Think about this guys. I used to LOVE Nintendo and the Zelda series.
I haven't played a Modern Zelda since Twilight Princess GCN. The systems killed my appetite to continue the series, so maybe you can understand why I am very skeptical and sketchy

With BotW bringing about such a different focus, do you think Nintendo needs to rethink/overhaul other classic titles? Or should we make new properties to bring back/introduce new ways to play?

Sealing away powerful forces, can in fact be better than 'killing' them. If resurrection is possible, or worse yet, easy, then killing a foe is an invitation for it to be revived. If you can seal it away and the seal is guarded, protected, and strong, it can be more effective at preventing their return. It's just that I'm tired of them having no other choice. One of the things I liked about Twilight Princess was when Zelda admitted that sealing away Ganondorf in the Twilight Realm wasn't dealing with the problem effectively, it was irresponsble and just caused trouble for the Twili people in addition to her own kingdom (eventually).
This is a common plot point in pen and paper RPGs, where resurrection is cheap, and readilly available. If death is impermanent, then other means are wiser. My personal favourite is to shove an entity into a pocket of space that is time-looped. In my Saerenan setting, temporal inprisonment is used to deal with criminals that are deemed dangerous to society, to prevent them returning after execution.
The problem in Hyrule, is that the three or four soldiers in the entire kingdom can't stand up to a wounded octorock in battle. Honestly, why can't Zelda afford competent military forces?
With regard to the timeline, I feel as if this will immediately precede Z1 and Z2. Perhaps after this, we shall finally be given a sequel to Z2 in the timeline.
I was originally hoping that this game would be about the original battle with Demise though. That would have been brilliant.

Which (somehow) arguably looks better than in that tech demo. I dunno, nothing seemed right. The environment's kind of bland, Link seems off mostly in color, and Armogohma... I'm not sure what choice of words I'd use to describe it but suffice it to say it doesn't sit right with me. Plus, more "realistic" art styles just don't age well, and Breath of the Wild is gorgeous, so I'm glad that's what we ended up with.
See, that's what I liked about TP's art style. It was stylised, but in a gritty way that still made it feel sort of realistic.
