Remove the snow altogether. Subscreen is fine and the screen is wonderful, great work.

Welcome back, FlameCursed (cannot hide my curiosity)! The screen looks nice, but I agree with Polaris (the in multiple ways upgraded Shane, congrulations for that), it would look better without the snow. Maybe you could create a more diversed snow that is less agressive? Like mudvaynes ice-dungeon (should be easy to find a letsplay on youtube), there are a lot of "ice lights" or something of that kind that seem rather irregular and create a great atmosphere.

And for the snow. I'd recommend having it only completely cover the cloud/ sky portions of the screen. Overall, not a bad screen though.

Nice layout, but yes to the bridge comment, and regarding the snow... what about making a larger graphic? I know tiles are 16x16, but you don't have to limit yourself to that default - you could do a 32x32 or 48x48 animation, with less overall snow, which wouldn't look so repetitive, nor would it clutter the screen so much.

Sheik, without surprise, you've made more wonderful screens. My criticisms are limited due to how good your map looks, but if I had to critique one thing, it would be this:

All bushes in a symmetrical pattern as seen above look a tad bit unnatural, but it's a very small issue. One would have to be a die-hard pedant to view it as a big deal.

-snip-
I think that's to give homage to the original Zelda, where all the bushes were arranged that way.
On reflection, the pots in the town look a little odd, the well would look better with the little specks that all the other water has, and the bridges should have one more tile of shadow to reflect their height.
Those small quibbles aside, everything looks great!

I like it, but if I were to give criticism it would be that the ground detail is somewhat sparse and monotonous.

You know, I almost always agree with this, except in one particular case: village areas.
I'm looking at the house in the mountainside, the path leading up to it, and the docks across the river, and I'm thinking it's obviously somebody's little piece of property - and most houses or buildings I drive by, if they have bushes/floral elements, they're always organized in some kind of systematic matter. In this case, it just looks like the person in the house also takes care of their yard to me.

This majestic castle, torn to ruins... And these owl statues... Are they the ruins of an ancient civilization?
This... Let's say I'm thinking of making this the first place you need to go to in the quest I swear I'm not working on secretly. This wouldn't be a regular dungeon, but more like an area you need to visit at least three times. Think of it like PH's Temple of the Ocean King or ST's Tower of Spirits. ![]()

Those are meant to be eagles actually. Great screen otherwise.
