that makes sense. it's not as pretty, but it works and holds to some logic.

You could try using different colors for the lower and upper floor tiles, too. Might help in the readability of the screen, too.

do you mean the red outline bricks? the purples are already quite different. if you mean totally different colors, like one yellow and the other purple, I disagree.

I mean totally different colors and was thinking of brown or grey. I think it would work well. Or purple floor with a different tile might be an option.

My thoughts too.

The darker wall below is an OK idea, but the blues look a little mucky now.

Maybe what you could try doing, is keeping the stones on the walls the same color, but taking that light blue border at the bottom of the walls and darkening that instead. Or, maybe do a half-and-half - keep the darker stones along the very bottom, but the lighter stones up top.

If they look a little mucky now, great. Those lower walls see water from time-to-time, so of course they won't be as clean-looking as the rest of the dungeon walls. :blah:

I am not very good with EZGBZ, first time I managed to do something I like color wise. Do you think the bushes are OK looking the same like the ground?

The firebird picture is more of a experiment, I want the colors to be a bit extreme, but do they look good together?

[edit] seems I know now how.

@Naru ... Any chance you could just embed the images with the [img] tag? Would make viewing them so much easier.

[img] tag? I tried loading up pictures on the site long ago and did not work since it seems not an option in pure zc anymore. If you mean to make the screen visible on the site no idea how, I am not much of a computer-person...

I always have a bit of troubles with internet, my only always available internet is in my handy and that can be kind of slow and tricky for pure ZC at times. So I rushed it a bit in and just put it into the dropbox this time.

Can you use Imgur? I find it the most convenient image hosting site. Dropbox might work too though I don't have much experience with it. Let's use a shot of mine:

It should look something like this:

You can copy and paste the link address and add in the img tags manually. It's what I do. Usually sites link Imgur provide you the link with the tags anyways. I hope this made sense. As for your screens... the only real critique I got is adding a bit more colour into your cave screen. Maybe make the bushes green. I like what you did with the dungeon walls in Firebird, that's pretty creative!

Hmm, yeah, thought so (ezgbz), but I think I won't get used to that tileset anyway...

So you think the colors are fine for the firebird screen? Do you think the trees are too simple for firebird? What do you mean about the dungeon walls being creative? It is a existing set, I did nothing with them ;) I am thinking about colorating the doors similiar to the floor tiles (a bit more of blue).

Sad to say, I have never truly completed a top down 2D interior.

I am looking forward to the challenges to learn and overcome

Nice cave screen, Astro. Reminds me a bit of how Shoelace designed caves in HoD, which is a compliment, if you ask me.

Here's a little sneak peak of what I've been brewing up in the Zelda Maker lately. Areas like this will be of high significance in my quest.
