Decided to do a bit more tile editing for Level 1.

You could try using different colors for the lower and upper floor tiles, too. Might help in the readability of the screen, too.

I mean totally different colors and was thinking of brown or grey. I think it would work well. Or purple floor with a different tile might be an option.

it's not as pretty, but it works and holds to some logic.
My thoughts too.
The darker wall below is an OK idea, but the blues look a little mucky now.
Maybe what you could try doing, is keeping the stones on the walls the same color, but taking that light blue border at the bottom of the walls and darkening that instead. Or, maybe do a half-and-half - keep the darker stones along the very bottom, but the lighter stones up top.

Ah.
Well then, success!

I am not very good with EZGBZ, first time I managed to do something I like color wise. Do you think the bushes are OK looking the same like the ground?
The firebird picture is more of a experiment, I want the colors to be a bit extreme, but do they look good together?
[edit] seems I know now how.

[img=http://i.imgur.com/TOrw4gN.png]You can copy and paste the link address and add in the img tags manually. It's what I do. Usually sites link Imgur provide you the link with the tags anyways. I hope this made sense. As for your screens... the only real critique I got is adding a bit more colour into your cave screen. Maybe make the bushes green. I like what you did with the dungeon walls in Firebird, that's pretty creative!

Sad to say, I have never truly completed a top down 2D interior.
I am looking forward to the challenges to learn and overcome

Nice cave screen, Astro. Reminds me a bit of how Shoelace designed caves in HoD, which is a compliment, if you ask me.

Here's a little sneak peak of what I've been brewing up in the Zelda Maker lately. Areas like this will be of high significance in my quest.
