That's actually a good point. Having a playable Ghirahim would be really interesting to say the least! :D

But seriously, I would like to see Ganondorf back in Smash and another villain alongside. But I'm fine with just either too.

Vaati would take a lot more work than Zant or Ghirahim still being only in 2D games and changed into a 3D Model. 

 

I'd be really surprised if Ganondorf doesn't make it in. It's like not having Bowser in. I also expect an alternate costume of his to be Demise assuming Sakurai doesn't mess that up like with Link's terrible SS outfit.

I've never understood peoples' objections to clones. They seem to assume that clone characters are somehow taking up a roster space that should go to a totally new character. But that's the whole point. Clones require fewer resources, meaning we get more characters overall, and more people get to play the characters they love.
 
Of course, as a Lucas main, I may be somewhat biased. (Even though he's usually described as a "semi-clone".)


Well it's the quality vs quantity dilemma. Yes, you can add a few clones and have a bigger roster. It will also feel a little rushed for me compared against a roster where every character is different and you can see the work behind it. And you don't really need to make every character unique in every aspect. Something like Luigi vs Mario is enough.

Nevertheless, I'm not a fan of extremely big rosters...

All Star mode is gonna be fun...and long. I wonder if this game will be the Marvel vs Capcom 2 of Smash that will exceed over 56 characters.

Teamudf made me realize something: There's only been two playable villains announced for Smash so far, Bowser and Dedede. To be fair, Brawl only had four, those two, Ganondorf, and Wolf, five if you count Wario, but the villain lineup is kinda small here so far. Hopefully they reannounce Ganondorf, or a new Zelda villain like Ghirahim, or surprise us with other new villain characters. Some diversity is always nice.

 

And Dedede kind of stopped being a villain after Kirby's Dream Land.

 

For people who're like 'Y NO GANNON USE SWORD?' I always thought he's like Oro from Street Fighter (who handicaps himself by using only one arm). If he used his sword he'd be too powerful and kill everyone. (Same reason why Doug doesn't use his gun.)

I doubt we're gonna have 56 playable characters.

Smash 64: 12
Melee: 25 (13 more, including clones)
Brawl: technically 39 but actually 37 (I count Squirtle/Ivysaur/Charizard as one in Brawl), so 12 more (including yada yada)

So... 50 is a reasonable number for Smash 4.

That's quite impressive but it's also harder to maintain... Even with a big staff behind the development of the game. Having a too big roster could became a serious problem. Maybe Smash 4 is safe, but let's see about 5 and 6.

Would've preferred an original Megaman stage, but this is fine I guess, and the boxing ring in both versions makes sense as well.

Lol you could make any shape work with three points. A parabola is used here but it could be a hyperbolic cosine, log, or root, or pretty much anything.
