It was very hard without an electric-type, as Gyarados pretty much just runs through my team. Heracross is good, but all things considered going for Raichu is probably a better move.

Yeah Raichu turned out to be a better choice IMO. All I need to do is to teach him Brick Break. Or maybe I should teach him Rock Climb.

SO; Red's Pikachu; **** my ass. Can't even scratch the ****er.

Blues gym is not made out legos anymore, but it's much more fun, so kudos for that. I really want to defeat Red with my Heart Gold team, but I really don't think they're going to be up for the challenge... maybe a few, but not as a whole. Of course that's also because they're weighted down with pointless HM's. Why do they make it mandatory to have us waste moves on stuff that won't actually help in battle?

Team;
SquekyHeat the Typhlosian Lv.57
BananaPhon the Magneton Lv.52
FrstyFrez the Glaceon Lv.57
DavidBowie the Kangskhan Lv.55
Octo****er the Octillery Lv.57
BadPudding the Muk Lv.56

I might be replaying this after I beat Red though so I can raise another team with a Magmortor, Hitmonlee, Dusknoir, Vaporeon, Aerodactyl, and Marowak.

Or maybe I can just play that on Diamond. Decisions decisions.

I just beat Lance, and I'm heading to Kanto! Finalleh! He was ridiculously hard, and that OUTRAGE was annoying as ****. Used 3 Revives, 4 Hyper Potions, 2 Full Restores. But thanks to Scary, I was able to take out that Dragonite with 2 Shadow Balls.

~Team~
Gly Jr. (Gligar) -> Lv. 28
Scary (Haunter) -> Lv. 57
Nate Jr. (Xatu) -> Lv. 51
Mac Jr. (Machop) -> Lv.49
Cat (Butterfree) -> Lv. 50
Tody (Totodile) -> Lv. 50

Well, I decided to hold off on SS 'till I beat FireRed. It just FEELS right. So, I start up FireRed, and everything at the beginning of the game is going yippyskippy until I face my rival for the first time. I lost.

The very first battle of the game, and I LOST. Had to endure the humiliation of of a senile old man paying my battle-debt and everything.

I didn't think this was POSSIBLE, unless you deliberately did so. But evidently, the AI in the games has been upgraded (if slightly), so that your rival no longer ditsy-farts around with his stat-altering move. What sucked even more is, I'm the one who had the potion!

So....Yeah. Emasculated.

(Sorry for OT-ness)

Well if it's any consolation, in Gold, I lost to my rival in the first fight using a Level 8 Cyndaquil. I thought using smokescreen enough would work. Better believe I feel like crap for that. icon_razz.gif

Well, guess I'm on a hunt for the Gym Leaders, myself, so I can do rematches and bump up my stats. I feel like I'll never be ready for Red. icon_frown.gif

I swear, it depends on your starter. Speaking of, which starter did you pick?

It seems like, when you pick Charmander, the first battle's no problem unless your rival lucks out and scores critical hits. Not entirely certain, but Squirtle seemed to be just as easy, as well. But when I attempted playing a rough translation of Pokémon Green (just for the lulz), I chose Bulbasaur, and lost a couple of times. icon_eek.gif

(I... saved before the match and kept restarting until I won. icon_heh.gif )

so... I'm a terrible person, but I traded over my team of elite from Diamond (well, only six of them) and crushed Red; though the battle was still hard. His charizard is insane as is his lapras, though I was purely unlucky with that one (missed 5 times in a row! woop!)

What's left? Let's see... Cerulean Cave, both dogs, three birds, re-matching all the gym leaders, Mt.Mortor, Seafoam caverns, try to locate all the places to use Rock Climb... life is good. Might restart my diamond account after some more transfers raise one more team.

HG team is pretty much the same, few increased levels.
Diamond team used were;
****STORM the Electrive Lv.78
Joe Dirt (I still hate this name Elizabeth) the Tyranitar Lv.63
Calmy the Cloyster Lv.71
Radishe the Dragonite Lv.67
Pancake the Arcanine Lv.84
Trotskey the Exectutor Lv.79

I picked Bulbasaur, actually. ;-;

Oddly, I would've won, but tackle missed once.

Kanto, overall, was more challenging than ever, which I like. I remember when I had my original Gold version, I breezed through Kanto. This time around, I have to actually get my A-game on!

I got the Thunder and Soul Badge

* Meganium (Lv. 48)
- Body Slam, Earthquake, Energy Ball, Light Screen
* Arcanine (Lv. 47)
- Crunch, Flamethrower, Strength, Reversal (I evolved my Growlithe at Lv. 42. I don't know if I can use Move Tutor to make him remember ExtremeSpeed)
* Raichu (Lv 48) <- I switched Heracross for this.
- Iron Tail, Light Screen, Thunderbolt, Slam. (I'm finding a TM for Brick Break to Replace Slam)
* Politoed (Lv. 48)
- Hyper Voice, Surf, Psychic, Ice Beam
* Espeon (Lv. 47)
- Shadow Ball, Swift, Psychic, Future Sight (I'm planning to replace Future Sight with Signal Beam)
* Dragonair (Lv. 48)
- Dragon Rush, Waterfall, Thunder Wave, ExtremeSpeed

Am I still underleveled? I might want to do one wave of Elite Four to get everyone closer to Lv 50.

As long as it's a move that you would have learned at a level before or as a starting move, the answer is yes.

So rematching the gym leaders is officially the easiest way to level, ever. My Magnezone can OHKO eveything on Falkner's new team, so I call him up for a rematch, battle, leave, call again, etc. Took my a little over thirty minutes to go from Lv. 80 to Lv. 100, and then did the same thing with Vaporeon/Blaine. icon_biggrin.gif They're only my second and third legit Lv.100's, the first being SilverStar the Lugia back in the days of original Silver... man I wish I could find that just to compare teams.

EDIT: Also, get your mom to save your money if you haven't. She buys you a Choice Scarf at one point,, which is too cool.

I really want this game icon_frown.gif

If I didn't get it all wrong however, Nintendo of Norway will be sending me both games for review sometime soon, so... yeah, well, I will eventually get them. Free :3

How's the games though? Did they manage to keep the feel of the originals? I hope so.

I really wished that they put a VS Seeker into this game. Platnium is the easiest game to level up Pokemon.

Once you get to Saffron you can re-match gym leaders and they give you tons upon tons of exp.

After you beat Red the Elite Four also steps it up quite a bit.

Alright, so after getting my last gym badge in SS, I decided to venture out for Lugia.

OMG. Stupid thing. I lowered its attack as low as it could go with Feather Dance, paralyzed it, lowered its accuracy as low as it could go with Flash, smacked it down to 1 HP, and when I began throwing Pokeballs at it... HOLY CRAP!! I threw 25 ultra balls and 13 dusk balls before I caught the stupid thing! Since I was very unhappy with that, I reset my game and went at it again. And guess what? Two dusk balls and I had it. TWO. GAH!! But yeah. That's my life.

My party is as follows:
Ampharos (Alice) level 41
Typhlosion (Mad Hatter) level 41
Red Gyarados (RockLobstr) level 41
Pidgeot (Tweedledee) level 42

And I have Lugia in there right now (Curb Stomp, level 45) but that's only temporary. I think I want to catch a Diglett and raise a Dugtrio. And of course, my HM whore, the level 12 Nidoran (Calypso), but that doesn't count.
