Yeah, sorry I removed a lot of stuff from my gallery as my style varies and looks rather crappy when piled together. I need to work on creating a stable technique...

Images from an 8-bit, NES-styled RPG that I'm working on:

I need a programmer so if anybody is interested send me a PM. You need to be proficient in Java or C++, but it shouldn't be too difficult of a job as the game's menu and battle systems are essentially clones of Dragon Quest III's.

her legs... before you start drawing, either map out with pencil sketching where you want things to go, or at least have a plan. I'm guessing you started with the head and just went on from there, but the shortened legs make the entire thing look really goofy (moreso by the fact that it's a human with fur and a snout...).

I noticed this after the fact. Normally I try to get the proportions more realistically. This one just got away from me.

Were you drawing it from an angle? Like, laying down on your arms?

I've noticed sometimes my proportions get a little out of wack when I sit back up and look at the finished product, but I can't imagine how you missed those legs being sooo short. Especially when you made sure to make the arms go down to the knees, which always looks annoyingly inaccurate at first.

Yea. I was laying down. There's really no comfortable private place to draw in my house. I've got a drawing desk set up now, so it'll be better now.

That last pic reminds me of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which is good since that's one of my favorite movies.

Snow Angel

I know Lemon isn't a fan of furry art, but I figured I'd post this one anyway.

Cool! Like the design!

Also, as much as I respect Lemon, it's not really about what he likes. icon_shrug.gif I think a lot of us would be extremely disappointed if you DIDN'T post it.

I still firmly stand that putting a tail, ears, and fur on otherwise bad anime characters makes them have more character, personality, etc. but eh. Another time.

One of the big problems, is that you're not really that good yet. You might be in the future, but right now I feel like I'm criticizing a middle schooler for not painting a Michelangelo or something. I can hope to steer you in the right direction though... which would be to stop taking inspiration from bad furry art and instead start doing drawings of naked humans. Or actual animals. Or real objects. You can always simplify, but once you dig yourself into a pit of bad anime style, you'll have a hard time coming out of (especially if you are on sites like Deviantart which are just horrid, horrid, horrid places full of stupid people who will offer nothing but encouragement instead of much needed critiques). By having a perfect thing in front of you, (and by perfect I mean real) you'll be forced t learn structure, line placement, all that wonderful stuff that most people won't/don't learn.

As for the picture, eh. The wings are kinda tacky, no idea what the background is besides hastily done, hair coloring is also quickly done and pillow shaded- how the oats is he wearing that hat- back pockets on pants look quickly tacked on too.All in all slow down maybe? Base this stuff off real life photos or something. You'll get better pictures and learn more. Your imagination is not to be trusted!

Hah. This thread may be my baby, but feel free to post whatever you want. I'm going to critique the oats out of it, but it won't kill me.

Yea, true. in the actual technical spectrum, I'm not too great. I've been trying really hard to fix certain kinks in my art style, like the obvious proportion oatsup in that one picture.

And although I respect your opinion and thank you for your time and critique, I don't believe that everyone has to be Boris Vallejo to be an artist.
