Yeah that looks really very good now, Shane. Good additions. Only thing is, I am not sure whether you are not going over the top with the red and blue lights on the ground now. Just two of them looked alright.

Also what Naru said.

No idea what the blue and red points mean, they irritate me a bit, especially the blue ones. The wall-waterfalls look awesome, but together with the additional points the screen is a bit overfilled in my eyes. Also this might be wrong since many prefer it to be less symmetric, but I would like the waterfalls to be more in the middle of the walls.

I assume the blue and red points would be an indication to tell you that one side would be activated and filled with water and the other side isn't.

Either way, fantastic screen Shane. Everything's perfect and I really have nothing to say to change it.

They're intended to be lights which either light up or don't depending on the dungeon's conditions. They're mainly intended not only as detail but to constantly remind the player these conditions even in rooms outside the effects of these conditions, if that makes sense. It's more of a gameplay-ish detail.

Centering waterfalls? Good idea! Something was a bit off about them and you nailed it.

Well, here's my second dungeon. Not sure what I can add to the walls - I don't want to use torches for the walls or floor.

Very IoRish! Can't complain. :P

Just to give kind of an idea of what that Secret Skies prequel will look like.  Also, I'll probably start posting on here more often to try to get feedback, which will help me be motivated to work when I'm able to start quest building again during the summer.

Looks interesting! Maybe try editing the palette by making the floor colours different (or rip them from another palette and combine them). More colour is the only thing I can see helping this screen.

Also what's up with the bottom shutter? Is it some sort of glitch or puzzle?

Without giving too much away, there was an attack, and the door was damaged during the fight.  Now that you bring it up, I might look into ways to make it seem more battle scarred.  What do you guys think?  Also, I can play around with the palette and see if I can come up with something unique.

I've never seen a tileset (Zelda Classic or otherwise) with beach dunes so I thought I'd try out something new.

Ideally, you use a screen like this to transition between a beach and palm forest without using cliffs. The dark green grass and dunes are unwalkable.

Goddamn that looks good.  I mean, I've always been a fan of all the classic style stuff you do (Koten, Mother Anniversary project) but you still keep impressing me.

That looks great. Not as great as Koten but more heart-warming and joyful. What is the Mother Anniversary?

Grass being unwalkable? What, does Link spontaneously combust if a blade of grass touches his skin and/or clothing? That doesn't really make any sense from a design perspective.

Arguably, it's the very thick kind of grass you find on the hills of most beaches: https://upload.wikim....uk_-_60625.jpg

There's also a brighter variety of grass you can walk over but I'll see if I can't edit that grass to look more solid.

Glad to see you like it. Mother: 25th Anniversary Edition is a ROM Hack I made of MOTHER 1 that makes it a lot more enjoyable.

I think you need to add a lot more depth to the grass to give it that effect.

OK...how does this look?

beach_dunes_demonstration_2_by_dragondep

The rule of thumb here is that if something has a black outline, it's unwalkable.
