I hope you don't mind I did a quick revision of your palette; you can keep it if you want, it's a base for what you can improve. More or less, this is what I meant about mixing blues and purples. Check the palette setup and the colors I chose, hopefully they will be useful to you to learn more about hue-shifting.

Demonlink, that is beautiful! I may just have to steal it for myself. ![]()

Thanks for your kind words!
I, have the same to say about your castle shot. The plants look awesome, the same with the MC windows. The subscreen looks effin awesome as well, but I'm edgy about the bridge. That black outline makes it stand out too much, but I can't quite say much about how to improve it. Anyway, I <3 it!
Oh god, the blue is just so washed out that it doesn't look blue to me, but more of a slate gray.. :v
Wait, really!? Like I said, it's a rough draft, so it's not quite finished.

Sephiroth, I think the problem with your original palette is that the colors are too different from each other. Notice how Demonlink's sort of flow together nicely? Yours are just blue and bright silver. Not exactly the best combination. Just something to think about!

Thank you very much! The subscreen is 100% custom.
I originally had the bridge without the black edges, but it blended in with the water and ground too much. So I think the makeshift bridge works for now. I'm also not a huge fan of the red edges for the water. It looks too dungeon-y.
Also, what do you think about the palette? I personally like it, but I'm also looking for other opinions. ![]()

Brown walls and grey floor!? REALLY!? I luvs it, the shot itself makes it feel like at home, and given it's a castle, it works perfectly. Hmmm, but the darkest shade of grey is a bit too dark, so making it slightly brighter should make it even better.

The idea behind my pallete is to have the floor not be an extremely similar color to that of the wall however. I can always revert the tops of the walls just fine back to what I had previously, that is not set in stone.
I wasn't talking about the floor (I like the purple floor!). I was talking about the bright silver door entrances and the blue walls.

And what's wrong with the door frames being a separate color than the walls? Takes out some of the monotony of a single-colored wall setup imho.. But if you guys don't like it, I can always revert it to non-gray...
Actually, the door frames are fine as it is, I think what Jared meant was how "harsh", the tones of blue (walls) and purple (floor) are so different from each other.
