I have been reading into some of the things about the hacks in pokemon bank.

From what it sounds like, hacked pokemon, but with legit stats, moves and abilities can get through and go online while hacks that have illegal moves, abilities or stats can also get through, but not be used online.

Tbh, I was expecting a server crash, so I am not too annoyed. Probably helps that I managed to get a snivy, a chimchar and a mudkip ( :D ) through online before the crash happened. If anyone wants, I can breed eggs of them. Can't guarantee good IVs or Nature though (still a beginner at breeding for IVs)

Still, it's not like there were any other games that had a server crash at launch (Diablo3SimCityBattlefield4GTAOnline)

Well it's supposed to stop all hacked pokemon regardless. Even if you hacked a Level 2 Pidgey, it's supposed to know and not allow it through.

The problem is that there are some pokemon that can be legit, but are very difficult to obtain. Like I believe a Chimchar with Iron Fist was only gotten through an event. It wouldn't really be fair for everyone to hack that in when it's supposed to be rare.

As a heavy user of Smogon, its not hard to have a hacked Pokemon look legit.  I even have a program (won't say the name because its easily googleable), that checks to see if they're legit.  It's a copy of the same one used at VGC, so you can make almost perfectly legit looking Pokemon, following the rules without going over 510 EV's or 31 IV's.

I know its a controversial subject, but I feel that hacked Pokemon, as long as they're not any better than what you can get legitimately in game, should be okay.  They're not any stronger than anyone elses Pokemon, and their moveset is identical as well.  I don't agree with people making Shiny Magicarp with Choice Scarf, No Guard, and Sheer Cold though.  That's just rude... (Totally not revealing how I won in the 1st round of a tournament I went to by disqualifying the other player for having that or anything... >.>).

That said, hopefully someone looks on the last page and rates my team.

I'd rate your team, but I'd probably be one of the worst to do so. ._. I'm very new to the whole competitive scene, so I wouldn't have any idea on what I'm talking about

Managed to hatch a 31/31/31/x/31/31, Adamant, Marvel Scale dratini today, which makes 5 of 6 I've got ready for training. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to run as my last mon though.

Planned team

Jolteon -     Volt Absorb/Life Orb/Timid - Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball/Charge Beam/Baton Pass (Probably replacing Charge Beam and Baton Pass with something else)

Vaporeon - Water Abosrb /Leftovers/Bold - Scald/Toxic/Wish/Protect

Espeon -    Magic Bounce/Expert Belt/Timid - Calm Mind/Psychic/Shadow Ball/Dazzling Gleam

Sylveon -    Cute Charm/Light Clay/Bold - Calm Mind/Moon Blast/Light Screen/Reflect

Dragonite - Multi Scale/Choice Band/Adamant - Fire Punch/Earth Quake/Outrage (Not sure on a 4th.)

I've been heavily leaning on a Forretress for rapid spin and setting up entry hazards, but I'm not sure. I have Espeon that could bounce back any hazards if I can correctly predict it, so I'm unsure if having another Pokemon almost dedicated to this is a good idea or not. I'm leaving my options open for my last slot though.

My poor team won't be able to see the light of day til God knows when...

Ah well.  Anyone wanna rate my team?  I'm trying to make a core team that will do well in my local upcoming tournament.

-Glisgor (Poison Heal/Toxic Orb): Toxic, Substitute, Earthquake, Protect

-Conkeldurr (Guts/Flame Orb): Mach Punch, Bulk Up, Drain Punch, Rock Slide

-Ferrothorn (Iron Barbs/(Rocky Helmet): Gyro Ball, Power Whip, Curse, Stealth Rock

-Chandelure (Flash Fire/(Choice Specs/Choice Scarf)): Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, Hidden Power (Ice), Overheat

-Rotom-W (Levitate/Leftovers): Hydro Pump, Volt Switch, Hidden Power(Ice), Will-O-Wisp

-Hydreigon (Levitate/(Choice Scarf/Assault Vest)): Dark Pulse, Flamethrower, U-Turn, Draco Meteor

Not too familiar with the Gen 6 meta, but it looks a lot like something I used in Gen 5.

I'm not too fond of Chandelure, but I certainly see how it's usable. I'm not sure what you aim to accomplish with HP Ice given it has been nerfed to BP60. Shadow Ball with STAB is only marginally worse iirc than HP Ice. Unless that causes you to miss out on OHKO/2HKOs on certain threats, I'd consider switching moves. I generally prefer specs on Hydreigon given that the meta seems to be slower and bulkier, letting you Draco Meteor holes into their team without a care in the world. I'd also consider a second priority user given that your team looks like it has little way in dealing with a lot of the faster threats that Conkeldurr can't beat. Again, I'm not too familiar with Gen 6s meta, so if I'm horribly misinformed let me know. I'd possibly consider swapping Chandelure with Reuniclus. Reuni is generally amazing all the way around, especially against slower special threats and stall teams.

I'm terrible with competitive, so I'll stay out of rating teams.

I've gotten all the Pokebank exclusive pokemon that are breedable if anyone would like one for their team. If not, I'm sure Bank will come out sometime soon. I can't finish the National Dex to get the Shiny Charm yet as legendaries aren't really obtainable via GTS. I may need to borrow some in the future as I likely won't be getting a Gen 5 game for awhile.

On another note: It's hilarious what you can get for a Kricketot on the GTS right now. I've basically just been breeding them and putting one up for whatever pokedex entry I need and they get snatched within seconds.

I noticed a lot of people asking for Kricketot, though I'm not exactly sure why. Is there something really special about them, or Kricketune? I never played D/P/P so I'm not really sure. :S

On another note, I'd probably be able to lend some Gen V legendaries once Pokebank comes out. Off the top of my head, I know I've got Reshiram, Victinni, Tornadus, Corbalion, Trekion, Virizion and Genesect. I miiiight have Keldeo, but I'd have to look. I may have forgotten a few though. ._.

More along the lines of a worthless pokemon no one who had Bank really bothered to transfer over. Unown is near impossible to get right now due to that too. Except Unown is also unbreedable from what I recall.

I can pass a Kricketot to you if you want. Think I may even have a few eggs lying around.

And yeah, I'll probably take you up on that offer eventually. I'm really wanting the Shiny Charm right now..

Reuni is generally amazing all the way around, especially against slower special threats and stall teams.

I use Hidden Power Ice only for type coverage, and only for fighting dragons (I foresee some Multiscale Dragonite that would be hurtin' from a 240 BP Hidden Power).

I wanted scarf on Hydreigon so nothing would outspeed it outside of boosts and priority moves.  Since it has 4x weakness to Fairy, its a good way to bait switch ins and I can swap out for Ferrothorn.  Since I bred mine to have 0 IV's in speed (about 40 speed @ level 100 thanks to a speed reduction nature), it makes Gyro Ball OHKO most Fairys with a Curse boost.

I would use Reuniclus, if it wasn't for that horrid speed (base 30, 10 above Ferrothorn...)  I use Ferrothorn only because of how bulky he is, in addition to his amazing typing.  I also use Chandelure for switch ins, since with Flash Fire, he can immune Fire, Normal, and Fighting.  That 145 base sp. attack is nothing to scoff at either, and with specs he can get over 600 special attack.  Another reason for me choosing not to run Reuniclus, is his type coverage.  He doesn't have that great of a moveset, limiting it to a Calm Mind build or an Offensive Trick Room (gimmicky enough in its own right.)  The only thing I can see going for it is Life Orb since his ability Magic Guard prevents damage from non-attacks.  However, I just needed a good revenge killer for that slot, and Chandelure was swapped for Jellicent since I was using his slot for type immunities.

The Gen 6 meta will probably see a lot of Fairies, Dragons, and Steels.  Seems to be a Rock Paper Scissors metagame this time around.  Hydreigon lost its popularity that it had in Gen 5 now that he has a 4x weakness, but that doesn't make him any less fearsome, since that's what the other 5 Pokemon on your team are for.

So I got an Oshawott, and I decided I wanted to try to breed the closest thing to a competitive Dewott I could, because I'm just insane like that. But then IV breeding. Just... urgh. It's a major ordeal to even find out what IVs my box full of otters even has, much less breed them down. How do you guys manage this?

I captured a bunch of Ditto's and nicknamed them based on their IV's.  Then I use a pen and paper to mark the offspring that obtained the Ditto's IV's.  Then breed them together, and keep doing it until the IV's are passed down.  But yes, nothing like a pen and paper.

First: Kiloude Pokemon Center has an IV Checker and use the markers in the boxes to mark the IVs for that pokemon.

You'll want the IV Checker to say "Stats like those... They can't simply be beat!" at the end for the stats you're looking for. That means you got the highest possible for those stats. If he doesn't say that, its more of a guess. You'll probably want all 31s for the stats anyway.

And finally: Use the Destiny Knot to pass along 5 IV's from the parents and Everstone to pass the nature while breeding if wanted. There's a guide on Serebii for breeding and all that too I think. The 5 IVs passed via the Destiny Know are from both parents. If one has an imperfect Speed stat as an example, the offspring can still be born with that stat.

Thank you so much. I've been wanting a guide on how to breed perfect IV pokemon and this should be it. I'm just glad that my Azumarill, which I caught near the start of the game, has perfect IVs in HP, Special Defense and Speed.

Edit: Too bad it is female. I guess it would be useful in breeding perfect Azurills in the future.

Edit2: So it appears that my Lucario, which I caught in the same area as my Azumarill not long afterwards, also has perfect IVs in HP, Attack and Special Attack and is a male with a Jolly nature. Thanks to a bit of luck, I guess I am pretty much ready to begin IV breeding.
