Finished half of blue gender. Likely one of the better animes at it times, but it aged rather bad, animation-quality is bearable, story is a bit slow (a lot of not extreme anymore violence and sex and similiar things including pauses to let it take effect) and quiet horribel romance (we have a traumatic environment and the charakters love behavior fits well to it, but the presentation of it is rather unfitting, too positive and romantic).

Thanks a lot for pointing out Erase, completly digging in, I love such animes and so far (ep.3) nothing that seems over the top ruining it for me.

Glad you're enjoying it. Other than the obvious "Revival" mechanic, the show doesn't really pull anything over-the-top and it's a fun watch even so.

As for me, two more shows just wrapped up, leaving Ace Attorney as the only continuing show into the next season. Those two would be...

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, which was an absolute total trainwreck. There were only two episodes out of the twelve total that could be classified as good, and they actually were pretty good, which makes the rest of the series an even bigger disappointment when you see what kind of potential it could've had. But the rest was completely dull. The main character is bland, the villain and his cohorts are bland, there's maybe three good characters in the entire show. The rest range from "I exist" to "I have potential but I won't get any time to shine." The Kabane are never explained, they merely exist just so the show can happen, which aggravates me. The finale is just full of conveniences and borderline (if not outright) deus ex machinas. I say good riddance to this show, and I hope we don't see a sequel series.

Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, is easily one of the wackiest and most random shows I've seen in a while, and it was so goofy and clever and fun. I'm not entirely sure I understood a bit in the finale, but this show's not about continuity, it's about comedy, and overall I had a pretty great time and definitely recommend this lovable piece of hilarity.

... well, that was quite a mood shift.

Anyway, with all those series finished, I think my "anime of season" goes to My Hero Academia without a second thought, and I'm stoked more is on the way. Sakamoto was also quite good as well, but My Hero Academia edges it out with its large cast of characters, wonderful artwork, and All Might. I want both shows' soundtracks though, for real.

So far on Mahoromatic 2 Episode 4.  Finished To Love Ru Darkness 2nd OVA Episode 2 today as well!  Sadly no Yami in that episode...will have to wait till December to see if she returns in the final OVA special.  ;-;

So I finished Erased. The end was a bit hilarious and over dramatic, but I liked it. While I doubt the maker is good in making normal slice of life and I don't see how another revival would make sense, I would have liked to see more. The only depressing fact is that the anime tackles some serious real life problems that only were resolved through a super-power that does not exist...

Anyway, rushed through the manga of Basilisk. Liked the anime a lot better. Not really anything great, I especially dislike setting such fiction into a real history context, some made up names would have done fine. Though while I am not a big fan of ecchi, I like to see some "real" women for once :D . Kind of disgusting how many "normal" animes have little girls as sex-objects these days.

Trying to get past the cgi in the new Berserk anime, but it's getting really hard...  At least it's better than Golden Age's cgi.

JoJo's still really enjoyable, and Kabaneri made me really mad...

I slowly feel like one of the old geezers that don't get anything about modern technology... had to look up cgi :)
I also really hate them, Ghost in the shell 2.0 added a few scenes, better music and graphic - and because it was modern maybe 2 min with cgi to show off, enough to ruin the version for me.

Yeah I don't like CGI that much either, maybe because I grew up with 2D cartoons.

Well I've been watching Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (my first was Gundam Wing when it came out on Toonami way back when).

@Naru
*Link Removed* has 720p versions of old anime, including Blue Gender. It's been awhile since I watched that.

That's not exactly what I meant by quality. More like with fate/zero? Or whatever the one of the series was that had a old and new version. The story is not all that great, but interesting for me. but in the old version the battle-scenes (which are obviously the main part of the series) are so boring I lost interest while the ones in the new version are total eye-candy and were really enjoyable (beside certain cgi-models ;) )

Blue gender includes a lot about fighting on the battlefield but the scenes often remember on old horror movies. Like you see the enemy suddenly zoomed in grabbing the robot. Not much movement. Also in many other moments. Not sure how I should describe this better.

Hey guys, quick staff notice here. Please don't link to sites that illegally stream anime. It's happened multiple times in the thread, so we figured it deserved a mention. Nobody's in trouble, because we do understand it doesn't seem explicitly against the site rules, but we are going to ask that you not post links to them or directly mention how to find them (like "Hey, go google this site"), as it puts PureZC in a murky legal area. Thanks!

Kabaneri made me really mad...

Care to elaborate? As someone else not happy with the show, I'm curious to hear your take, in spoiler tags if you must.

The pacing felt really bad.  They never explained where the Kabane came from (Kabaneri sure, but not the regular Kabane).  They introduced a new villian way too late in the season.

Spoiler

I wanted to like it because the premise was really cool to me.  The Walking Dead meets Snowpiercer, but that's giving the anime way too much credit.  It's more like Ash Vs. The Evil Dead on a train, only not as funny.

I think the main issue for me, is that I hyped it up too much for myself.  I wanted it to be goo.  I hoped for better.

It sure was goo alright. chansub-global-emoticon-ddc6e3a8732cb50f

But yeah, I feel pretty much the same. It was all incredibly underwhelming save for two episodes (8 and 10 I believe) that were legitimately good, which just makes it a shame the rest didn't hold up. If it had twice as many episodes, it might've stood a better chance. But yeah. You're spot on there.

bloody hell, when was the last time i even posted?

Anyway, I better stay on topic.

Yeah i liked Kiznaiver a lot. Got me all warm n' fluffy watching the relationship dynamics develop even though the Nico thing was...such an asspull.

Just...how was the viewer supposed to notice? I get there's being subtle, but then there's being outright stealthy about it, to the point where you're not gonna notice unless you go back after hearing it and look REALLY HARD for some hints, only to find there's one really, stupidly subtle hint.

Ahem. anyway, all I'm still watching is Yugioh still. Arc V of course. As it airs.

Also Jojo Pt.4

and Ace Attorney.

and Macross Delta. Which funny enough, has me wanting to go back and watch Macross Frontier.

Oh, and I've got some people trying to sell me on Re:Zero, even though I've been on the fence about it for a while.

I mean, I don't think it's another haremshit. And I already found my guilty pleasure for that season, which was "And You thought there was never a girl online". Yeah, it subverted my expectations in a good way. It's not a spectacular show, but I still enjoyed it.

Oh... let's see... I thought of watching the Dangan Ronpa animu. The sequel animu. So say is supposed to end the Hope's Peak saga.

Welp. Spring season is over. And I'm still watching si shows. I didn't even think many of the summer shows looked interesting. But here I am. With six shows. Ace Attorney is still one of them, being a 24-episode show. Here's the rest:

Handa-kun - A prequel to Barakamon, which is a show I highly enjoyed. However, whereas that one was about the misadventures of a hotheaded calligraphy artist cooling his head on an island in the company of a quirky little girl and the chill villagers, this one is about the hotheaded calligraphy artist in high school. He's adored by all, but he's super paranoid and thinks everyone is out to get him. It honestly reminds me of Sakamoto in a way, if Sakamoto was a screw-up at everything and still managed to improve people's lives somehow.

Re:Zero - This actually started in spring, but I kept hearing positive buzz about it and decided to check it out. It's actually really good. A guy is sent to a fantasy world (though it's so far never explained how) and every time he's killed, he's sent back to a checkpoint. There's a lot of mystery to it, and he pretty much has to solve them or find a way to avoid the deaths, while building relationships with a girl, who's a candidate to become ruler of the kingdom, and her allies. It can be fairly bloody, and the last episode as of this post (episode fifteen) was damn disturbing, but it's a good show.

Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars - Before I picked up Re:Zero and was looking at summer shows, I realized that none of them were action shows, so I picked up one that looked mildly interesting. Regalia is... tough to describe because it hasn't really explained its own history yet. There are these mechs called Regalia, and they're piloted by young (apparently not human) girls, who also may be the mechs themselves and they transform into them? Not sure yet. Seems to have a "monster of the week" format with hints at a deeper plot. It's decent so far.

Rewrite - I saw this was an adaptation of a Key visual novel, makers of Clannad and Kanon, and I enjoyed those shows, so I thought why not try another? And so far it's alright, though the supernatural elements are taken up to eleven compared to those two shows. There's a somewhat-interesting mystery aspect going on as well, which could be neat. Also the girls are cute, that's what everyone plays/watches these for, right? :heh:

Sweetness and Lightning - Despite the somewhat-badass title, this show is anything but. It's about a single father who's a teacher trying to raise his young daughter. They live off cheap meals because he's a terrible cook, until one of his students offers to help them cook better food. Cute show, I like it, now if you'll excuse me, I need to go mop up the puddle that is my melted heart.

Finished blue gender. It ended with a nicely animated fight, I really wonder why the battles before where so lame. And one more story with morality making the story a bit too hilarious ;)

On a side note, how bad is the censorship in english anime? Latly I prefer watching them in english to train my understanding of spoken english. But regarding german anime not only the synchro is pure crap (far worse than anything I have seen with english synchro, same for most cartoons) they tend to see anime only as stuff for little children, cut out everything too brutal and completely change the story at times. They even have gone so far to stop One Piece because they had one scene where one person dies for sure which cannot be cut out because of the importance for the story...

In short, I don't watch german anime because a lot of the story is changed and cut out. Would it be wise to inform me before watching an anime in english or is it rarly the case such a big difference happens with them?
