PowerBracelet: Lot's of stuff to critique. It may be the best thing you've ever made, but it's still not really that good. It has potential though, you've just stopped to soon. Go over your pencil lines with pen. Color it in with pencil/charcal/paint/whatever you can. Even just pen will make anything look far more "complete".

I know I need to ink it and all that fun stuff (as a side note, I would first have to have access to my home computer, where my Pen Tablet and my copy of Photoshop 7 are). This is just meant to be a rough sketch. I remember reading manga when I was younger and seeing the rough sketches of characters at the break in the chapter (you know, like in One Piece or Hunter x Hunter), and I always thought that those sketches said more about the author's intentions for the character than any other pictures in the manga.

About the action poses, that's one of my weakest points. I've been working on making better action poses but very few have come out with favorable results so I'm waiting to post pics until I come up with something decent.

Pretty much the only action pose you're going to see from me is this:

And it's not really good, it's just flashy.

Orr you could just use a pen! icon_smile.gif

Look up Figure Drawing for all it’s Worth by Andrew Loomis. It's absolutely brilliant.

Bring a sketch book with you wherever you go, or just a plain notebook. When you're with friends just chilling, just sketch their frames. You will never see a person in a rigid uninteresting pose, even if they're just sitting down. I usually do a slightly simplified version of this guys frame, because I personally think it's absolutely incredible how well the joints translate.

Really what you should do though is fine that book. It has a lot more guides in it about how to make that kind of frame, and while frames may seem boring at first, you'll be amazed how easy it is to draw your usual stuff on top of it.

This is a concept for a book I want to write. Nothing too fancy. It is afterall just a quick MS Paint concept.

I have no idea what the plots going to be, but that sets the setting perfectly. Sci-fi futuristic on another planet. I'd like to see it more fleshed out though icon_smile.gif

I could never work in MS Paint with a brush of 1 pixel.

Looks cool, Migo. Reminds me of the game Fly Guy, though probably only because it's monochromatic...

IPB Image

Just some coloring practice. (obviously a WIP, about four hours so far)

Mr.Pimpy keep being awesome.

Are you doing that pixel by pixel for the coloring or are you doing general colors then using mad photoshoop filters? The static in the sky is pretty awesome. Top notch ol' boy.

EDIT: Oh. I actually liked it moreso before you updated. The contrast of the blue & red was very nice. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks. The sky is a digital painting that's been indexed but the guy is pure pixel art. ;D

And I can't really decide which palette I like more. ):

Egad! Stop changing it! Post a new image with each update, leaving behind a excellent view of the progress you've made. It's always fun to see the journey.

The halo bit is a nice touch. Part of me misses what I assumed was mountains, but this is fine too. It looks completely different, but still pretty sweet.

Thanks :3

Well, this was supposed to be the capitol or whatever of the people on that planet/country on a planet or whatever, I don't know all the details yet. The basic plot is that we discover life on another planet (this one), and stuff happens. There's a lot more to it than that though, and it all eventually comes down to the moment of creation and that sort of stuff. It has a pretty deep story so far, and it most likely wouldn't fit in one book, so the first book is just about this new planet, the people on it and the hostility that comes from both sides of it. I'm not planning on making this one know it's science, because I don't even know my science, so instead of this being about the army, or a bunch of scientists or whatever, it'll be about a normal guy. I think the story itself will play out more like an adventure for this normal guy and the people he meet... while the political stuff will be a part of it only. Like, a sidestory, so-to-speak. I have a lot more than this, but let's save that for another time icon_razz.gif

Also, yeah, if I do go on writing this, I will most likely make a more detailed version. I want to get a tablet before I do that though... drawing with the mouse cursor is pretty crappy.

Mr. Pimpy, at first I thought it was gonna be Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen. Haha. Needless to say though, it's fantastic. I can't believe you did that with pixels :O

EDIT: I was also working on this the other day... it IS from the same book, but it's not the race that lives in the city I just showed.
IPB Image
It's obviously WIP currently, but yeah... pretty simple and cliche design, but that's sort of the point. I always knew that if I was writing anything with aliens, I would use the old big head, big eyes and short guys style, cause to me, that's the only real type of alien... I was never into the other ones icon_razz.gif You can expect these to come in various different shapes and looks though... I mean, in a similar way to how we humans don't look like each other.

I'm thinking about calling the race "Raptor" or something along those lines, as that one in particular is inspired by the velociraptors seen in the Jurassic Park films. How, you ask? Well, if you look closely at it's torso, it has these weird dark gray lines... those are very similar to what the velociraptors of Jurassic Park had on their backs:

Huskies are win. This is no exception. The whole blank white everywhere thing kinda fits too, you know, with snow and all. Maybe if you added some pawprints this would be golden.

I like that he vanishes ion the paper, but I feel like that only works when the subjects in snow, or just disappearing into the mist.

If the background were a tint of some sort very light grey color I think the creature would stick out a lot more. Right now it just seems kinda lost.

Very nicely drawn though. I in no way get Watchmen out of it. I think people are just attributing anything black and white with it at this point icon_razz.gif

I think he was talking about the pixel art he had before the husky, which was very Manhattan-esque before the color change and other details.

I can't view the husky because DeviantArt is giving me a 404, and I also can't find it from the profile it's supposed to be on. Looks cool from across the room though. icon_razz.gif
