I think that the GBC walls on that shot kind of clash a little bit because of how prominently they use black compared to every other tile in that picture. Maybe if you replaced most of the black with a darker shade of brown and use it more like how the left/right facing cliffs use it, it would blend together a bit better?

You mean the forest-y shot, right? Yeah, I can agree with that. However, I'm not too skilled with editing tiles. PR doesn't come with many options for "castle" tiles, and I thought these fit the most. I think they fit alright, though. If you can find a different kind that would fit, please tell me!

There's always DoR Hybrid that has more castle options. Remember that tiles from DoR work in PR... *hint* *hint* ;)

I don't really like how DoR is organized, and it doesn't really have what I'm looking for. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I agree with Scootaloo, there's a nice contrast between nature and whatnot, so I say keep it as is. Glad I can help with the plant tiles, they look nicer.

Woah, we posted at the same time! So weird. :P

I like it! Not too much to comment on, you used everything very nicely. Well done! I noticed a lot of people are using the mountains as brown, instead of gray though. Not a problem, just something I noticed!

Is this inspired by Zelda 1?

I really enjoy your winter solitude

Everything flows pleasant

I can imagine how fun it would be walking link under the bridge at some point in a quest, as well as on top

I really do like it man... I am looking forward to a map at some point!

I think so.

At least, I can say yes for me.

Because, most people who've played the game originally, either on the NES console many years ago (me), or on NES emulators later, or even in ZC for the first time, are probably used to the deep brownish-red mountains after so much time. So, for those of us with that ingrained into our Zelda-1-mode mindsets, it's natural to gravitate toward highly saturated mountain tiles. I think if your tiles were presented as a totally different game to people not familiar with Z1, most would conclude that the gray tiles are best suited for rocks/mountains, and gravitate toward those instead.

In my particular case, I'm growing obsessed with the Rose ScootSheik palette because its shades and saturation remind me of one of those rare golden sunsets, where everything in sight glows yellow, and it looks so absurdly dreamy. The green trees, blue water, brown wood, brick walls, cement sidewalks, metal buildings - and yes, the rocks and dirt - all look like some color-filtered Hollywood paradise scene. And I love it :D

(Also, that BSMC Tileset Beta link in your sig seems to be taking me to something I don't have permission to view.)

With or without the transparent layer?

Other than that it could obviously use some color variation.

Edit: Hm. Without.

I think it looks better with, because, like you said, it has more color variation. The pattern of the translucent leaves seems just a bit awkward, though.

I can't get over how messy it looks, though. And even the LttP tiles for the overhang look way too dark. If there was a way to make them ligher I'd consider it, but once I switch from black to any other color it looks just plain weird. I will try fog if I get around ripping it into the file. Though not right now.

With fog:

It's moody, I like that. I just wish the colors came out nicer. ._.

I say no transparent layers, please. As is it looks like a creepy autumn forest already. And for such a small map, there looks like there's a lot to do, which is fun to see. I know where you're going with this, and I wish you the best of luck in completing this. This looks too amazing to give up!

Thanks. I will go without any fancy layering for this area.

...I do like the windmill in the cornor. I was just wondering who in their right mind would build a windmill in a forest, but I might just throw some vines on the building to give it an aged look.
