Just managed to get this game a couple hours ago, and I love the game feel.  The game is very smooth in terms of frame rate, and the controls are very responsive.  The music is also very good, and having just beaten the first temple, I can safely say this is one of the better Zelda's to have come out recently.

From what I understand, this game uses the Magic Meter for almost every item you have and I can't help but feel this was a stupid idea. Why? Well now you have a lot less variety of item pickups from pots, shrubs, grass, rocks, and enemies! Also level designers can't do what they did in LttP and have specific item pickups under pots in certain rooms to indicate what item you should be using (Forcing the level designer to come up with some other indicator).

So yeah, it means that cutting bushes and stuff essentially only earns you rupees and hearts and... that's it, yay? This also likely explains why it's so easy to make a crap ton of money in the game compared to LttP.

I think the Item Gauge was a good idea. In Twilight Princess, I rage quitted because I had to backtrack to a shop because the game didn't supply me enough bombs in the dungeon that requires a lot of bombs.

Also, enemies supply you monster guts and whatnot.

Which dungeon do you mean? You could hold so many Bombs in TP, it's surprising you'd ever run out. If you mean Water Bombs, there was a Zora who sold some right outside the level and you found loads of Bombs inside the level in chests...

Snowpeak Ruins. I didn't see any chests that had bombs so unless it was hidden in the snow (which would be very mean), pots should have provided them. I honestly thought you had to exit the dungeon, warp to the bomb shop, snowboard down the peak and do the puzzle with bombs. With ALBW, you don't need to lose the immersion of solving a puzzle.

I never carried so many bombs after Lakebed because the game kinda stopped using them until later on.

I think the Item Gauge and the Rental Shop though, should be a one time use though, like the WM+. It works great, but if it's going to be done to death, it'd get boring.

Beat Hero Mode tonight. I enjoyed the challenge, it felt... well, not completely like ALttP, since some things murder you more fiercely, but it was similar sometimes. Made me think about renting smartly, though I managed to be able to buy all the items fairly quickly. Game wasn't any less enjoyable the second time around. Safe to say this is one of my favorites.

Finished my run of Hero Mode with zero deaths earlier. Was kind of underwhelming unfortunately, oh well. Hardest part was the beginning doing the first dungeon.

I just started Hero Mode. I was going to wait till I 100%'d the first playthrough, but I wanted to start it. I still need four more HCP's, and the red mail, and I need to grab the last Master Ore (which based on process of elimination, I know the chest it is in. All of my items are bought, and upgraded, and I only need to find four more Maiamais.

There's only one thing keeping me from "true" 100% in both quests: A chest in Ice Ruins I have no idea how to reach. Otherwise, I've 100%'d both modes, and will investigate this chest later on.

I finally got this game! :) A month ago my friend borrowed me his 3ds, we've talked a few times to try and arrange getting the system back to him, but he kept flaking out. Yesterday he said he has to get the system back yesterday because he was moving today. Oddly enough, he still never showed up. :/

So he's moved now, and I feel I got his 3ds for an extended amount of time because of that. So I said "heck" I'll just buy this game. I'm gonna give it away to a family member later anyways (Zelda, not the 3ds). This also ain't the first time I bought a game for somebody else's system. I usually just sell the game or give the game to the owner as thanks for loaning me their system.

So anyways, here I am playing ALBW words on a 3ds that belongs to my friend, and god knows when he'll come for it now since he moved. :P But consider me a part of the race. Lol

Oh, I think, considering it's habitual that most people has taken this game in the same order as ALTTP, I am committed to taking that order backwards. :) (or close to it) that should be interesting.

I beat it on normal last night. This was an amazing game, all around. It was fun to just wander around collecting things and look for secrets, and then once you decide to go into a dungeon, the puzzle component and design was really well done as well! A++++

I finally spoke to my friend and he said he decided to borrow me the 3ds so I can play this game.

I played last night and beat Eastern Palace. Today I simply did a bit of overworld exploration. I am ready to take Hera or Gale, I haven't decided which one I wanted to do yet, and that's the part I like most.

The energy bar is nice, but I'm still upset because I've been using stamina or a similar magic formula in my quests, and now because of this game, it's no longer original. I actually even fear that players will believe it is me that got the idea from this game. :P Or I also worry about the amount of quests surfacing in the future with this formula.

I guess I gotta find something else original now. :P

Anyways, I quit playing when a bird statue told me I was playing too long. Lol

Response to above post

Meanwhile, stealing credit from Scootaloo for finding this but found out where the minigame theme came from: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=9pkHoe_F7E4

Kind of interesting, though I gotta admit, listening to it, it feels a little more generic medieval than it does like a Zelda theme, which is incidentally one of my main gripes with Zelda II in general, which still had good themes including a remix that made it into ALBW. :heh:
