Oh yeah and completely changing a game for a remake, would suck.

If you don't want a new game, play the original. The whole point of a remake is to make a whole new game, based on the old one. If it's a carbon copy of the original, I'm gonna feel like I wasted my money.

OoT is a great game on it's own.

True enough, but it still can't stand up against some other titles in the series. This is the perfect chance to make it one of the best games in the series, but they're letting the opportunity pass by.

Third: You guys really need to stop this fight, its getting out of hand

Global Mod Yoshidude is on the case!

I have to agree with Russ on the majority of this debate. While I do think that the mobility of the game is nifty; that's where my interest in the game ends. It really is going to be the same thing as Ocarina of Time for the 64.

And to all those that are thinking "Isn't that what all remakes are?": Yes, it is what all remakes are. I don't like remakes, especially ones that cost a crapload of money.

Looks like the place he meets Zelda for the first time has been changed.
Wasn't there a garden bed in the middle?

Did you not buy OoT for Gamecube Russ? That was a carbon copy of the original OoT, with Master Quest thrown in. Now the 3DS version according to you is the exact same thing (I believe with much better graphics though), therefore you either must have felt like you wasted your money, or you believe that buying the 3DS version is not a waster of money, as you have essentially bought the same product yourself, according to your logic.

Yes, there was a garden bed.
But the new one actually seems like a real courtyard...so beautiful @.@

Yes, but I don't own the 64 version, and this was ten bucks. So it was well worth it. So no, it wasn't a waste of money, I got a game I didn't own before that point. With Master Quest.

Well, if you owned it for N64 before you got it, you wouldn't have gotten it, thus not knowing or caring about MQ, because it was just a port with differently designed temples.

I don't know if this was already posted....

Anyone else think Epona's movement is a little weird?

Didn't want this popping up twice on the page. ~Angeal

Yeah, actually I thought the movement was a little odd myself, along with the volume of the hoofs when she gallops. I dunno, it is just a video for now.

Also Russ, earlier you had mentioned them getting rid of the Koume and Nabooru scene not being in it. Actually, what I am thinking is that they ended the video just before it would normally start, and put the logo up with a black background like they do on most trailers. Since it isn't really part of the intro scene, more like a small preview of what's in game. icon_shrug.gif Just thought I'd point that out.

Well, isn't Epona now moving like a real horse? Maybe we're just not used to it?

Sort of a random question, but time of year do you think OoT takes place? To me it seems sort of like late Spring or mid Simmer.
What do you think?

Well, that does seem to be a fairly accurate idea about the time of year it would be there, so I think I'd have to agree with you. icon_smile.gif

If that animation is weird, then Epona's animation from the N64 version was super weird.

And, yeah, I think OoT occurs in late spring, which is always a lovely time of year.

I don't think this game will be a waste of money, unless you're just OoT'ed out. I've only played the game three or four times through, and I've been forcibly stopping myself from playing through again until I get the 3DS version, so it should be worth my money. Also, I heard that the Gamecube versions of OoT and MQ were glitchy and sloppy-- two things I'd pay for fixed.

I'm preparing for OoT3D by not playing the old one until it comes out, and buying an Ocarina of Time replica :3

Yeah, this is basically why I never finished MQ on the GC. I'll wait until a (presumably) more stable version is available. (AKA Hopefully this 3DS one. :3)

I'm probably getting this since I haven't played through the game fully in awhile, and honestly the idea of a more stable MQ is appealing to me. It looks gorgeous, appealing, and above all else, it's going to (hopefully icon_razz.gif) be fun. I haven't played OoT all that many times so I have no real problem going out and getting it, especially since it's on the go. (I'm on the bus a lot, so portable gaming is what I've been doing recently.) Probably why I've been more into the portable gaming market as of late. XD

Very true, this version seems to be a bit more true to how a horse actually moves.

Same here! I've been wanting to play it again recently, but I am holding myself back from playing it on my Wii, so that I can enjoy the 3DS version of it fresh! icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah, I don't think I ever got to far in the MQ version of the game, so I do hope that errors are taken care of. icon_biggrin.gif
