I like the design of the screen. But I really don't like the Instrumentality tileset, because it's so clashy. :-\

Alright it's back to work for me.

This is a huge, tall grass area below Kotea Village for the player to grind at.  I added in the trees that border Kotea Village AND thick grass that cuts into the regular tall grass, possibly dropping an item each time it's cut.  What else could this screen use?

  • Flowers and bushes.
  • Small shallow ponds, or a stream as Joelmacool suggested.
  • Butterflies or something to suggest life here.
  • Maybe a tree or two in the middle.

It took a bit of work, as I needed to add grass borders and trees with grass (doing this with layers for EVERY screen would be a much bigger pain), but I did get this done:

Need a bit more touching up or is it good as is?  I don't think I am capable of animating butterflies or some such, and I see nothing in the default EZGBZ tileset that resembles anything like it.

These are GB field screens. I'm looking for some advice and critique especially on the detail. Do you think I should add more ground detail?

You could probably add some flowers, bushes etc. Maybe a sign on the screen to the right. Other than that, looks pretty generic, which isn't always a bad thing. I like it.

A lot of the blandness could be fixed with more of the green grass tile and less of the white grass tile. You might want to consider using fences to frame the thing a bit, though not necessariliy.

Yeah, it's meant to look trippy. Though I might undo the animated styled graphics since some tiles don't animate well or don't animate at all.

Screen looks awesome, though I think it's a bit too cluttered :) Might just be me though :D
