Looks like everything got a significant yellow boost the second time around.

LBW is exceptionally saturated compared to LttP...

lttp_lbw_comparison.jpg

...but what made it work so well was the smooth detailing of the textures. Picking solid colors out of LBW images (or even averaging them) for ZC palettes will probably get you a look that's even more neon than the original NES palettes. Still, if you were to at least aim in that direction, I believe you'd be doing brightness and saturation increases rather than color shifts.

I have also tried creating a LBWish palette, it's still a WIP. If anybody else wants to give it a swirl, go for it. It's the DoR palette structure and right now uses CSet 2 and 3. For some reason I am not entirely satisfied with it yet.

Was actually planning to make a user-friendly LTTP tileset that looked something along the lines like this. But ah well, yours looks a lot nicer for sure. The island in the middle sends Z1 vibes.

Here goes nothing. This is me adding in a layer 5 light at the dungeon's entrance. But for some reason, it just doesn't feel quite right. I don't know, what do you guys think?

The black parts of the door make it seem weird. It's as if it is transitioning from darkness to light.

Please finish this. :(  Or I'll be forced to beat you up.

Think I should extend the entrance tiling all the way into the doorway and add the light in the doorway as well? You think that would make it look a bit better and more realistic?

Yeah, I think that should work.

That, or at the very least, try making the floor in the door white just like all the others are black. If every other door goes to black, perhaps making that part white would match them the best. It would be stylistically consistent, if nothing else.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. I went with the idea of (ever so slightly) reducing the amount of yellow in a number of the colors and now I have a version of that palette that I can live with. Also, I promise this is the last time that I will post this same old screen. :P

Edit: Throwing in the in-game screen for good measure. Again, note that right now this runs in Quest744 (by Bagel).

Really not a fan of the attempt at the smaller LttP Tree.  And you'll obviously fix up the water transitions with the GB style LttP mountains? Apart from that, loving it. Good to see a throw back to older styles, and LttP is probably a graphic style that has been under-utilised in ZC in the past.

Man, Sheik, I found myself liking the past 5 images of that section XD They're all really good and there's some really amazing progression from the first shot to the most recent. Good luck on more progress with this!

In this screen, I hid a tile error! Actually, I noticed it only after I had already uploaded it...

Edit: Also, that waterfall comes hardly logical in that spot... it's pretty, but it doesn't make sense in terms of mountain elevation. I will remove it.

Looks good, Sheik! I'm happy you've chosen the second version of the treetops. :)

How does this compare to the last screenshot I showed off in terms of quality and realism?

Looks good! Maybe you can make the light a little more brighter as it gets closer to the door? Maybe even all white?
