Why are you still in your pajamas? Because he's too damn excited for this reorganized set! THAT's why!
(Hot, hot, HOT!)
The tileset is coming out amazingly! I'm hoping to get a beta out soon enough.

Your screenshots are amazing, Jared. Your environments are always fluid and well-balanced. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with. ![]()
Here's one last screenshot of the field area. I'll show the town I've started or my first dungeon pretty soon. For now, here's this:

"Surely there's something interesting waiting for me in that cave..."

@Jared - 2hot4me. Seriously, that's a really cool desert shot. Reminds me of the way FSA did it.
@FalsePower - Really nice shot. Gotta love that R/S/E tree in the middle of the field too ![]()

Heading west into town.
At this point I think it's time for me to go ahead and start my own Quest Project thread thing so I don't start flooding this topic. Stay tuned for that if you're interested in my screens so far.

FalsePower, would you like help on using those mountains? Because you're using them....wrong. ![]()

How do you know! What if he wanted a river that's above and below a section of land at the same time!
false power please don't take this post as offensive

Yeah, the river is looking pretty impossible. If I were you, I'd just use the grass/river tiles, and make it on the same level as the grass. That kind of bridge is best used for small rivers as opposed to rivers that are cutting through a mountain.

You can still do what you're doing. You're not using the mountains right on the left side though. You're using the bottom parts for the top, which doesn't make sense.

Hmm.. Yeah I see what you guys mean. I was going for a lower elevation (right side) to a higher elevation.
Now that it's brought to my attention I suppose it does look a bit off. I'll see what I can do when I get home and post the results.
I'd be grateful for any tips you have, Jared. I might have to go with what Tree suggested and ditch the ditch (lol) if I can't get it right.
The way that bridge is requires both edges of the river to be at the same level. It wouldn't really make sense for it to connect a lower plane to a higher plane. It's just not how the bridge works. It'd have to be slanted. Unfortunately, I don't believe I've ever seen a bridge sprite that would allow you to accomplish what you were going for.
I'd either ditch the ditch entirely, or make both sides the same level.

I think I've ironed out most of the problems with this screen. I appreciate you guys bringing the issue to my attention.
Does this look about right?

Actually, you could make this work with the mountain as is. Just repeat the middle portions of the bridge (so that the left side doesn't curve down) as you move to the left. Since the bridge midsection is 2 x 4 combos, this shouldn't create a tile error.
EDIT:
The bridge would then curve like this:
-------.._
instead of this
__..------..__

It's "objectively wrong" because the bridge is physically impossible to pull off when one side is on a higher elevation. That, and the mountains are used weird, facing the wrong directions and such.
