Most of it looks okay, but that red (lava???) is painful to look at.

I would recommend making it a bit less vibrant, like your greens and purples. Red ground is fine, but it's just much too bright in comparison to the rest of the screen.

i changed the ground to a dark blue and now introducing the first instance of "Plague" enemies goriya and leever.
That looks actually pretty cool even if the palette doesn't have consistent colors. Hmmm, makes me think this is like a Mysterious Nightmare World... Hmmm, the blood on the skulls should be a bit darker, they stick out like a sore thumb. Still, this shot fascinates me in a way I can't explain. Oh, you might want to darken the blue as well, it's a bit too bright as well. Hue shift it a bit. ![]()

It looks a lot more like water now. I would suggest making it more grey-ish. (To do that, you basically have to make the color's numbers all closer together, so for example: if the darkest blue in the ground is 0,0,30 make it something more like 24,24,32 )
Edit: I also suggest making the darkest greens a bit lighter, right now it looks like there's a bit too much contrast between the highlights and dark parts of the grass.

Better/worse?

Maybe not the best but better sir. I enjoy the uniqueness. Good stuff.

Better/worse?
It's better, but probably should be a tad bit darker, and more a bit more grey still.

Oh no, it seems the bridge is out...
Could you possibly shorten the broken planks so that the gap is wider? Right now, it looks like Link could easily get across the bridge anyways if he were to step on the planks around the holes, making it only a broken bridge (no pun intended) by terms of game mechanics rather than common sense. It's the same thing as when you see a character in a cage or cell where you can see they could easily just walk in between the bars with no difficulty whatsoever. (Now, if you were to have an entire optional dungeon where the player expects to get the Ladder to cross, only to meet an NPC who states that Link could have just stepped around the holes the entire time, and that doing so was possible from the beginning and the player just doesn't think of doing that out of habit, that would be hilarious!)

I think it's fine as is. It's a video game so I wouldn't get too hung up on how realistic it actually is. Especially when working in 2D. I would rather take issue with the way the mountains overlap. It looks goofy. But other than that it has a nice flow.
