So guys. About that trailer that only came out yesterday?

3.5 million views already.

And when I went to bed around 11pm, it was basically at 430k. That's a huge leap. You can tell this game generated a LOT of hype.

It's not like I've been repeatedly watching the trailer in a complete hype trance or something.

I think the real question is what will fill the Zelda void until next year.

I'm extremely excited for this! The game looks amazing, and I have more Zelda amiibo to get now too.

Well I dropped a thought dump on YouTube because why not. Didn't expect it to last nearly twenty minutes but there you go.

I'm excited to play The Legend of Zelda: Magic Arrow of Explosiveness! Sounds like a great title. I'm gonna ruin your day and call it now that Breath of the Wild is gonna turn into some significant story related ability! I'm predicting this now! Probably they'll rip off Skyrim's Dragon Shout or something. Lol

lol, they should've called Shin Zelda Tensei hahaha. It's really good, from the videos I've seen.

Similar to Bethesda games, there's a plot, but you don't have to follow it, and there's more than one way to go about things.

My favorite kind of game.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyrim Sword looks pretty good, honestly.

“We realized that having something on the GamePad and looking back and forth between the TV screen and the GamePad actually disrupts the gameplay, and the concentration that the game player may be experiencing. You have your car’s GPS system on your dash. If you had it down in your lap, you’re going to get into an accident! Still, you can play the game entirely on the GamePad screen, if you like. Considering how vast the world is, it would keep you from monopolizing the TV." — Eiji Aonuma

So it seems the game won't take advantage of two screens even when using the TV screen to keep you focused on the game itself. You'll have to make the map or menu pop up rather than look at the GamePad. Maybe this was for NX reasons too.

Maybe they're FINALLY learning that the Gamepad screen doesn't really work the same way a DS does. Whatever the reason, I'm grateful this game will work fine with a pro controller.

People compare this to the Elder Scrolls series, but that's not entirely accurate.  I mean, this actually has a sophisticated combat system.  Hell, it just HAS an actual combat system.  Elder Scrolls' combat is really boring and generic.  Games like Skyrim attract people who want a big open world with a lot of places to go to who don't care about how bad the rest of the mechanics are. :P

Skyrim is pretty incredibly dull with terribly bland combat, skill points, dungeons and story (Oblivion has more interesting dungeon design) and I've spent a long time in that game to say that with certainty (unless you allegedly mod the crap out of it, but then you're not experiencing the original game).

This was one of my problems with Skyrim. I wanted to play it and love it so bad. But it was just too dark, too slow and such for it to be playable for me. But now that we're literally getting my dream game...I can rest in peace.

The combat in the Elder Scrolls series is overall just pure trash (This coming from someone who played the whole series). Most people just play them for the exploration, questlines and the lore.

After seeing more of the game, i get little more excited but not by much. Lately i've been having trouble getting excited for any game.

Erm... I was hoping we could at least take notes on the map. Then again I want to get the NX instead (unless it's some bizarre gimmick) just because I don't see buying an expiring console for one game. Still this article strikes me as downright bizarre. If the gamepad is just a distraction, wouldn't Aonuma and co. have discovered this while developing the WiiU and scrapped the idea then instead of releasing a system based on this as the main peripheral? As I understand, this controller was/is expensive, difficult to replace, and only one could be used per console. This article is upsetting and really makes Nintendo look bad for making that decision with the WiiU, then easily discounting the whole idea when they play this one game. Maybe they feel it's more important for Zelda to be immersive than other games? I don't know.

Is it really that distracting while the game is paused? Does this mean BotW will be like Skyward Sword, and the action won't stop when we pull up a menu? I really like being able to freeze the action. I hate having to speed scroll and select items quickly. Action and combat I can handle, that's intuitive, selecting text/icons from a list isn't intuitive at all, and you need to take however long it takes you to find/see/read the icon/text, you can't speed that up. It's really easy to scroll a menu too far, but you're not gonna accidentally walk further than you direct Link to walk, or attack 7 times instead of 2.

The only reason I saw for getting the WiiU version (other than owning a WiiU already and being short on cash) was gamepad features, now that's gone and I'll definitely be getting the NX instead- unless the NX is just a bizarre gimmick. All of this seems incredibly short-sighted, especially since the Sheikah slate is obviously designed to be a Zelda universe representation of the WiiU gamepad! Yeesh

The thing that console gaming always had over PC gaming is that everyone gets the same peak hardware performance, software compatibility is a non-issue, and we all get the same controller experience. Nintendo needs to make sensible console decisions if it's going to be more than just a software developer.
