After episodes 19 and 20, Rarity is starting to grow on me. I used to absolutely hate her, but now she's okay. After episode 20, Fluttershy bumped up a spot on my favorite pony list, it now goes:

Rainbow Dash/Pinkie Pie - Fluttershy - Twilight - Applejack - Derpy - Rarity

It was kind of the same for me, except that by the end of season 1 it was like:

Fluttershy > Rainbow Dash = Pinkie Pie > Twilight > Rarity > Applejack

Mostly because Applejack is extremely greedy and has almost no redeeming personality qualities.

How does that describe Twilight? I think that perfectly describes Rarity, especially after:



Althought, I will admit, looking back at this it was kinda funny.

EDIT: I redid Cupcakesward in a different video editor, VideoPad. It came out like, 20% cooler. The effects are better synced with the audio now, so it's much better than the last version.

Episode 15 (which I just watched) was the most horrible pro-religious rot it has been my displeasure to view in a child's television programme.

Also, whenever I watch the show with Mitchell and Ryan I portray Celestia as a sexual deviant. It is great fun.

People always get the message in episode 15 wrong. It was worded rather badly, but it has more to do with trusting your friends words rather than believing something you don't understand. Lauren even came out herself and said it could have been worded much better to be easier to understand.


And how can you people NOT like Rarity? :O



She really comes off a bit wrong at the start of the season but she really does get a lot more character and is a lot more like able after you have seen it all and reflect on it. In fact, I think AJ is more underdeveloped than Rarity.

But regardless, best pony is still and will always be Twilight sparkle!

Except that it's not supposed to be a pro-religious statement. I think green-kirby puts it best:

Yeah. And that's mostly because Dave Polsky (who wrote both this episode and episode 21 "Over a Barrel") is probably the weakest writer on the staff.

Rarity doesn't really start to grow on you until her mental breakdown in episode 14, but even if at that point you're still not sold, episode 19 will fix that.

People always take Twilight for granted because she's used to portray the voice of the audience. I don't think I'd enjoy this show NEARLY as much if not for the fact that every time I wanted to make some snarky comment, Twilight beat me to it. I think the prime examples are in episodes 2 and 3:

EPISODE 2:
Pinkie: ~When I was a little filly and the sun was going down~
Twilight: Tell me she's not-!

EPISODE 3:
Rarity: Twilight, it's raining.
Twilight (soaked): No....really?

Well, you can't really say that we got it wrong if it was written badly. If they wanted that to be the message, they should have said it somewhere in the episode.

Well, you can't really say that we got it wrong if it was written badly. If they wanted that to be the message, they should have said it somewhere in the episode.

Like I say, Dave Polsky is probably their weakest writer. He wrote both "Feeling Pinkie Keen" and "Over a Barrel", and honestly, I'd be surprised if he stays on the writing staff for too much longer. Of all the writers, he's the one who consistently tells good concepts in a crappy manner.

Over the barrel is in general a really unlikeable story IMO. It clearly shows that the writing could use a tune up when Fluttershy proclaims that she would like to be a tree out of nowhere.

Also, it really is stated in feeling pinkie keen, but it's very easy to misunderstand due to the fact that people are more common known to talk in that manner when talking about religion rather than believing your friends. Obviously, the writing could have been done a whole lot better, but I understood it the first time watching without any prior knowledge, so it's there, just in a very bad manner.

I find it funny how THAT'S the flaw you point out, considering it's probably one of the top ten most awesome lines in the entire series. I thought in that episode, Huffy the Magic Dragon was a much more out of character thing for Fluttershy to mention.

Top ten lines:
1. And then I was like 'OATMEAL? ARE YOU CRAZY?!"
2. It needs to be about 20% cooler
3. Don't you use your fancy mathematics to muddy the issue!

Really? I typically feel like Rainbow Dash portrays me more than anybody. To me, Twilight Sparkle is just all "hey I read books and comment on things and don't really have a personality deal with it" or something.

What episode is this from? Horse puns are the best thing.
