Well, new year and my mind has already been blown. Even though it's not at all practical, I want this script so bad just to screw around. I assume items are a no go since it's just drawing tiles onscreen in 3d?

Currently, items, enemies, weapons, and every combo except for #12 and #25 are nonfunctional. The stuff I've done up to this point is mostly just the mechanics of how to declare and render polygons. I guess I can send the script to you if you're interested, but what I have now is pretty minimal and is going to be updated quite a bit.

Today, I finished scripting a 'patch' that enables LttP-style arrow and bomb icons in the subscreen in ZLW. Neither the Arrow or Bomb items will show up on the subscreen unless you have at least one of each types of ammunition, complete with the tiles for the Arrow ammunition changing with what arrow item you have. That is I made it that, when you obtain the Silver Arrow Item, it changes the tiles used for the arrow ammunition items from ones that show Wooden Arrows to ones that show Silver arrows instead. Little things like this make a quest unique.

Also, partly scriped the 'V' weapon below:

This is midway through the charging routine of the script. When this is done, Link will have the most powerful weapon he can obtain in his arsenal, doing more than twice as much damage as what the Magic Sword and Bombs do (the next most powerful weapons in the quest) and is powerful enough to OHKO any standalone enemy other than a Patra Leader (Edit: Now it will) and the final boss in this quest, be it Blue Wizzrobes, Gleeok heads or Pol's Voices. Beware! It will severely damage you if sucessfully hit an enemy with it.

The first section of the script is 90% done, the only things to do is to have the 'dummy' sword LWeapon to function properly and to implement a working routine that clears the out the sprites I use in it.

Wow Orin XD! That's some pretty neat scripting right there! Although, I still can't quite tell what the V-create is going to do, but it sounds very nice.

I just got done adding a lot of sound effects to my game.

Unfortunately, the site by Help The Wretched never works. I've tried on different browsers, and on different computers, but I can't get the site to work. So I am stuck finding mp3's of the sounds I want, and I have to convert them to wavs. But I still have many sounds I wish to add, but nowhere to get them. At least I have a way of doing it though...

i made an invisable dodongo using 2.5 which has a feature that some enemys can only be seen by lens of truth. Its really hard to kill switching between bombs and the lens and it moves away during this time. Has anyone else made this?

So I can now finally finish my intro of my quest because I finally found a suitable name: "The Legacy of Light". icon_biggrin.gif I'll get a video set up soon. Keep in mind, it's not that interesting but still, it's meant to tell the prologue of the game. icon_smile.gif

Today (well, technically yesterday now), I worked more on my scripted Moblins, while pestering you guys in the chatroom! Yay! icon_love.gif It pleased me to see how active things were in there. Usually the chat seems to be pretty dead when I log on. It was a nice treat.

I finished my "script" (not to be confused with scripting) for the intro and beginning gameplay for the next demo release. I've also planned out the layout for the walled town of Gueldor, which is where Link will start the demo. Finally I've started to work on the tileset for the town itself. Hopefully I'll have something to show or update soon. icon_smile.gif

It'll be interesting to see how it works out since the town consists of 5 sideview streets with connecting streets that take you between them (by going up into the image or down).

They not only throw spears, but sometimes twirl them before throwing, which blocks most of your standard attacks (Bombs and most forms of magic will still hit them). This shot shows one of them using its standard Double Throw, and the other one using its Twirl (which ends with either a Single or Double throw at random).

I find these guys to be a challenge in groups and in wide open spaces, because their Rook-motion projectiles can threaten lots of screen space if they're in formation together.

I'm extremely satisfied with this! The glowing feeling of finishing a big task is radiant through me right now. icon_biggrin.gif I wish I hadn't procrastinated so much is all.

This here means I have enough material to put out a public tech-demo, finally. Who's ready for one?

But I might wait until after Tuesday. I promised Russ I'd have something to show him, I think making it public a day before our RL meetup would be a dick move of me 'cause it'd no longer be exclusive icon_confused.gif

Anyway it's awesome I'm finally finished with something to actually release. I feel like I haven't really been pulling my weight in the community here because I keep saying all these things about my gigaquests and not following through... So, this is a major stress relief from that.

Ah, yeah... I need to work on the overworld in ZLW so I can get closer to the quest being completed. As this is my envision of the sequel to LoZ (Z2?), I plan to have a 'second' quest and possibly even a 'third' quest in this.

Anyhow, I now have 6 overworld screens done on ZLW today, making the lowlands area say... 85% complete. Soon, I'll be onto the badlands area of the overworld and paving the paths to Levels 1 and 5.

Today The Badlands (one of the old main areas from Zelda Forever which will be re-visioned into LoL (also seems Orin is also using the name "The Badlands" which is very fine by me of course considering I don't own the name or anyone else that I know of icon_razz.gif)) is fully planned so that's another page of planning done, another step closer to fully developing my quest. icon_bounce.gif I still haven't forgotten about the 12th of January which is when my announcement thread is due. All though there will be only a screenshot mock up showcased, but hey, it's better then nothing. On the twelfth you'll mainly see the basics. Prologue, general gameplay, screenshots - you know, the usual junk. I'm not sure about the demo, sadly and unfortunately. I must apologize for my laziness and the sudden lack of motivation. I feel like promising was a dick move. icon_unsettled.gif Especially when I can imagine a lot of people whispering "Shane, you did it again icon_frown.gif". But this year their (maybe, don't take my words for granted.) will be a demo featuring the beginning up to the end of section number one of my fully planned Temple of Light, this temple, unlike the other temples will be more evolved with the storyline and gameplay of LoL. icon_smile.gif

Hey Shane, about your demo issue, you know that the ZC Spring Expo has been reannounced this year due for the middle of April, right? If you can crank out a playable demo in two months time, you'll be able to have it showcased in the Expo, which is a terrific experience, much more memoriable than starting it in an ordinary Project Thread. icon_smile.gif Sounds like something to shoot for, if you ask me.

I intend to try, though considering the sheer size of Project RCS, two months is extremely hard pressed to get the demo finished up to the end of Level 1 like I want it. I'm giving it the best effort I can though.

And I have already decided when and how I will release the tech-demo I already have done, and the official Thread. But I'm not telling~ icon_cat.gif
